When Susanna Espinoza heard the devastating news on Christmas Eve that she had only a few months to live, her boyfriend proposed, hoping to make the short time the two had left together as memorable as possible, ABC 30 reports.
However, the 27-year-old mother of four, who's been battling cancer for three years, couldn't afford a wedding. Her family needed to save money to cover her funeral costs.
But, as soon as her South Valley, Calif., community caught wind of Espinoza's dying wish, donations started pouring in, according to the news outlet.
"I'm sorry I don't have anything good to offer," one person wrote on the Facebook fundraising page. "But I can help with clean up and set up."
The soon-to-be bride now has everything she had hoped for, for her big day and got another unexpected surprise.
Golden Memorial offered to pay for her burial expenses.
"People will remember me happy," Espinoza told ABC.
