"Too much leftover candy" is the biggest complaint heard in the days following Halloween. But to me that's practically the equivalent of grumbling about too much sunshine or too many rainbows. Since when is candy ever a bad thing?
If your family can't possibly finish the mountain of Reese's, Kit Kats, and Heath Bars -- and you don't feel like donating it to a local food pantry or troops oversees -- check out these five tasty dessert recipes that call for candy as the main ingredient.

1. Cotton Candy -- This Cotton Candy Maker (Best Buy, $49.99) is one of the coolest things we've seen in a while. Simply dump in your leftover Halloween hard candy and it spins out delicious cotton candy.
2. Butterfinger Cupcakes -- Candy and cupcakes have been done time and time again -- but never quite like this. Annie from Annie's Eats topped banana cupcakes with halved fun-sized Butterfinger bars, peanut butter frosting, and more crumbled Butterfinger. Delish!
3. Candy Corn Ice Cream -- Not everyone's a fan of candy corn. But who could ever argue with candy corn ice cream? It's a particularly useful recipe if you're looking to unload a bucketful of the little orange candies. It looks like lovely orange sherbet and you can even top with more candy corn pieces if you are so inclined.
4. Halloween Blondies -- This recipe from Salon.com riffs on the classic blond brownie by substituting chopped up Halloween candy (Heath Bars, Hershey's, etc.) and salty snacks (potato chips and pretzels) for chocolate chips.
5. Halloween Bark -- What a great idea from Epicurious: Hardened melted chocolate is festively studded with bits of leftover Halloween candy. Just be sure when making the bark to mix some good quality chocolate in with all the other stuff.
