The star of The Wolf of Wall Street has made yet another investment, but this time he didn't leave any stone unturned when he furnished his Greenwich Village (New York) apartment.

The $10 million, two bedroom, 2.5 bathroom residence has all of the features one would anticipate from a Hollywood Celebrity of his status, but it comes with a very interesting element that Leo hopes will contribute to a prolonged aging process.

That element is a vitamin C-infused shower system.

This skin care trend didn't start here, as the MGM Grand has wellness rooms featuring these showers for the most demanding of clientele who insist on promoting healthy living. In fact, the MGM Grand was quoted as saying these showers "promote healthier hair and skin."

Are there any "real" skin care benefits behind vitamin c infused showers?

With any new concept, there is little research and varied opinions.

From a chemistry standpoint, vitamin C does react with chlorine and consume it, says Neal Langerman, an officer of the American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health and Safety. The concept has even been proven by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. But, Langerman says, the filters are all hype. "First off, chlorine and chloramines do not cross the skin barrier, nor does vitamin C. ... [Also] I don't think the reaction would be complete--the neutralization, if you will--by the time the water hits your head or flows down the drain."

There is no question that vitamin c is fantastic in any skin care routine. Vitamin C creates collagen and heals wounds. In fact, many companies are turning to vitamin c and e infused products to help protect the skin and promote a protective barrier on the skin.

Will this magical shower keep one of Hollywood's biggest stars looking his best and in the limelight for a longer period of time?

Only father time, and his magical shower, will tell.
