It's that time of year again, New York Comic Con has taken over New York City. From Thursday through Sunday, all of your favorite comic, tv and movie characters can be seen roaming the streets of Manhattan. Last year, 160,000 people showed up for the event. The creativity of pop culture is whorshiped here.
ComicCon takes place at the Jacob Javits Center on the West Side, but you'll see these characters roaming the whole city for the next few days.
The #7 subway line now lets folks out right nearby so there isn't as much walking up the streets to get to the convention center, but the subway is full of Batman's, Spider-man's, the Jokers and the like.
All the latest movies are featured and the newest tv shows and you can meet your favorite cartoonists, writers and directors. All weekend there will be chat sessions and presentations. There are signature sessions with your favorite stars and there are crowds. Lots of crowds. This is not the place for the claustrophobic.
It's a right of passage each year for me and I look forward to it. I love the Adam West Batman, but any Batman is great, I love Spider-man and I enjoy all the3 new tv show characters.
My friends at Go Comics were there as they are every year, spreading the comic strip cheer.
The event is sold out, there are people up and down the streets selling scalped tickets, but I am wary about them, I don't believe they are real tickets. So be careful if you decide you want to go that route.
Batman and Batgirl. The 1960s versions.
