The homes or offices of five elected Democratic officials in the Albuquerque area have been hit by gunfire over the past month, police say.
Authorities said they believe Diane Albert was shot and killed by her husband, Eric Pinkerton.
All four victims were South Asian immigrants who attended the same mosque and were shot in ambush-style attacks, according to police.
The city's police chief on Tuesday announced the update on Twitter.
Authorities have said that all four of the killings have several things in common and that they are looking to see if any other crimes could be related.
Police are investigating if the killings of four Muslim men in Albuquerque are connected.
Local politicians including Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller mixed with “Breaking Bad” stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and director Vince Gilligan to help unveil the artwork.
“I do not recall this happening before,” DOT spokesperson Kimberly Gallegos said. “But I honestly think this was just a simple mistake.”
The bronze statues will be celebrated at the New Mexico city's convention center with stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul in attendance.
