The Utah incumbent said the president's comments about her "shine a spotlight on the problem Washington politicians have with minorities and black Americans."
The Salt Lake County mayor's victory over the Republican congresswoman adds to the Democrats' new majority in the House of Representatives.
During a post-midterm press conference, President Trump mocked Republican candidates who avoided his support and lost their races.
“Mia Love gave me no love. And she lost,” the president said. “Too bad. Sorry about that, Mia.”
"My parents came from one of those countries," said the first Haitian-American woman elected to Congress.
None had gender cards in their purses, either. Sad!
The complaint was filed by a supporter of Doug Owens, who is challenging Love in her re-election bid.
"When he came to Utah, I saw him inspire people."
She flew to D.C. for the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
