Russian airstrikes targeting civilians across Ukraine have left many dead and injured, in retaliation for the destruction of a key bridge linking Russia and Crimea.
In response to Iran testing their ballistic missile system the Trump administration added sanctions to 25 individuals and entities.
There were several other attacks on U.S. warships earlier this week.
The flight was headed from Lebanon to Serbia.
