Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Wednesday that a vote protecting marriage equality will happen "in the coming weeks."

Johnson, who previously said he saw "no reason to oppose" the bill, now wants an amendment protecting religious freedom.
The Democrat is hopeful his party can win back seats at the Ohio Statehouse this fall during a critical time for the LGBTQ rights movement.
