Jennifer and James Crumbley, the parents of Michigan high school shooter Ethan Crumbley, were both found guilty of involuntary manslaughter earlier this year.
The resignation comes days after an independent investigator found that Uvalde police acted in "good faith" while a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers.
"They're more worried about me saying the word 'f**k' than they are that my son and others were murdered," said Brett Cross.

"I’ve asked myself if I would have done anything differently and I wouldn’t have," Jennifer Crumbley said when she took the stand.
The attorney general said police's response to the Uvalde mass shooting in 2022 was a "series of major failures."
The shooting at a small-town Iowa high school left one dead and five others injured.
Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger and six others were injured in the shooting that left one sixth-grader dead.
The 17-year-old suspect is dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
Victims' families had gone to court so that the deceased shooter couldn't “terrorize us with words from the grave," said a parent at the school.
