Well it's "that" time of year again - show time in the fashion world! As usual I find myself rushing around the globe without my feet touching the ground!
I'm off the to the States on Thursday to attend our Erickson Beamon event on the 11th, "The Redemption of Eve" at Milk Studios. Karen is crafting a spectacular, crystallized flower garden on a massive scale and I am really looking forward to seeing her creation! She is a genius on visual side and I'm sure it will be an amazing feast for the eyes.
While in the USA I will also attend the opening of my friend Stephen Jones's show at the Bard Centre. Titled Hats: An Anthology, the exhibition is a collaboration with the V&A in London and features more than 250 pieces ranging from an Egyptian Fez to couture creations, all chosen by Stephen to show the universal appeal of wearing hats. I'm sure it will be an enjoyable, and interesting, event.
London Fashion Week starts the day of my return, so before I leave I will catch up with the designers whose shows we are working on and make those essential last minute tweaks! This season our London shows include Maria Grachvogel, Richard Nicoll, Peter Jensen and Temperley; I am really excited to be collaborating with all these talented designers.
Once back in London I will be thrown straight into the fun of fashion week - I am most looking forward to attending a party hosted by Mario Testino on the 19th. The event is to celebrate the inaugural Moet and Chandon Etoile Award and will no doubt be a great evening and a chance to catch up with close friends. London is always buzzing and exciting during fashion week and as soon as the last show wraps I will leave for Milan, closely followed by Paris. September really is a fashion whirlwind!
