Courtney Act and the Queens of Christmas!

Cabaret is defined as entertainment held in a nightclub or restaurant while the audience eats or drinks at tables. It is often a challenging venue as performers have to soldier on past the back ground noise of waiters, bus boys, and the ill-timed clink of the dinner plate during the pivotal point of a performance. But for those who can rise to the challenge cabaret can prove to be the most intimate and rewarding of settings for both the entertainer as well as the audience. Aussie drag sensation and star of RuPaul's Drag Race, Courtney Act, who has already proven quite adept in the genre with her acclaimed cabaret show Boys Like Me returned to the Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City this past weekend to perform 'Twas the G'Day Before Christmas. Being that it is summer in Australia at Christmastime Courtney regaled us with tales of dreaming of a white Christmas Down Under - and holiday hilarity soon ensued. Courtney has the unique ability to move from comedy to poignant reality very quickly on stage and it is her true talent as a singer that makes it all possible. Check out Courtney's Christmas cabaret performance of her new song "Illuminate" and then watch Courtney along with fellow drag stars Willam Belli and Alaska Thunderfuck perform their brand new Christmas release "Dear Santa, Bring Me a Man" in the videos below - Happy Holidays!
