RuPaul has just released his latest album, Born Naked. And while it should come as no shock to anyone that the album hit number 1 on the iTunes dance chart almost immediately upon its release, it is surprising to find that wrapped up tight alongside several funky and fast-paced syncopated beats ("Fly Tonight" being my favorite of the up-tempo tracks) there is a true slowed-down acoustic gem, the beautiful duet with RuPaul and the legendary Martha Wash: "Can I Get an Amen." Stripped down, unplugged and sans auto-tune RuPaul delivers one of, if not the, best vocal performances in his career which is only enhanced by the incredibly spiritual (and surprisingly subtle) voice of power-house singer Martha Wash:
