"Yeah, we actually did a one-hour presentation for vendors on making your displays pop," says Unique L.A. founder Sonja Rasula. With 350 vendors accepted (out of 800 that applied), 75,000 square feet of space and customers spending around $3.5 million over the three weekends a year that Unique L.A. happens (in L.A., as well as in San Francisco and New York), this is not your mother's flea market rummage, nor is it just about people being crafty. "It's real business," Rasula says. And, it's mad competitive -- which is why to be successful here you have to step up your display game.
