Michael McCarty and chef John-Carlos Kuramoto host a monthly Market Meet Up at Michael"s in Santa Monica. The two lead a tour of the weekly farmers' market, introducing you to their favorite farmers and seasonal ingredients, and then create a meal back at the restaurant. Chef Anne Conness and Golden Road Brewing team up for a beer-pairing dinner at Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach. Five courses -- dishes like white shrimp ceviche, brussel sprouts with crispy duck, and English steak and ale pie -- each come with their own brew, including limited releases like Get Up Off That Brown and Hudson Rye Porter. Nic"s in Beverly Hills is throwing a Poolside benefit for the LA Food Bank. The entire restaurant has a pool theme, complete with cabana boys and girls, fluffy towels, chaise lounges and cool pool-scene art. Nibble on dishes like dill-pickle marinated fried chicken, lobster beignets, and ahi tuna lettuce cups, and sip vodka in the VODBOX.
