The U.S. and U.K. militaries are airlifting underwater robots to Russia's Far East to try to free seven submariners trapped on the seafloor with less than 24 hours of air.

``The Super Scorpio is in San Diego and expected to leave this morning, local time,'' said Capt. Matt Brown, a spokesman for the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The Royal Air Force is sending its own Scorpio from Prestwick Airport that should arrive at the accident site by 2:00 a.m. London time, said Anton Atrashkin, spokesman for the British Embassy in Moscow.
