The Los Angeles County District Attorney has charged actor Mel Gibson with misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in county jail.
TMZ was the first to report that Gibson was arrested early Friday morning while driving on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Calif. He allegedly tried to flee the scene.
