Democratic Leader Harry Reid and DSCC Chair Chuck Schumer have confirmed they will support Ned Lamont's candidacy. In an email statement, the senators called the results a chance to aim the country in a new direction.
The senators concluded their statement by explaining that Lieberman lost because he was perceived as "too close to George Bush and this election was, in many respects, a referendum on the President more than anything else."
