'Silver Surfers' Spend More Time Online Than Youngsters

So-called "silver surfers" dedicate an average of 42 hours a month to the World Wide Web, compared with 37.9 hours among 18 to 24-year-olds.

A greater interest in hobbies, news and local issues among the elderly is believed to be driving the trend, which sees over-65s account for nine per cent of all time spent online in the UK.

Makes sense.

An hour to turn the thing on, a bathroom run every five minutes, twenty minutes to remember where the computer is, ten to remember where the bathroom is...

Very funny Junior. But you might learn something from "silver surfers". Mark Twain said, "When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in 7 years." Don't be took quick to dismiss someone who's seen a lot more, and maybe learned a lot more than you have.
