Talking Points Memo:

From the AP ...

Texas' Hunt Oil Co. and Kurdistan's regional government said Saturday they've signed a production-sharing contract for petroleum exploration in northern Iraq, the first such deal since the Kurds passed their own oil and gas law in August.

A Hunt subsidiary, Hunt Oil Co. of the Kurdistan Region, will begin geological survey and seismic work by the end of 2007 and hopes to drill an exploration well in 2008, the parties said in a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

From Hunt's bio: "In October 2001 and again in January 2006, Mr. Hunt was appointed by President George W. Bush to the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board in Washington, D.C."

There is a well known mentality among Texans that believes that, since Big Oil, the True Seat of Government and Finance rightfully belongs in Houston. They despise anything in the Northeast, especially New York City, Boston, Philadelphia. They despise anything and everything in Washington, DC, and we have all just seen what they truly want to do with our Government and our Constitution.

The Hunt family tried to corner the world market on Silver, once, remember? With all their Oil they truly believe they are the Masters of the Universe. I've heard that there is a little known clause in the Texas Annexation agreement that would allow Texas to resume its original "Sovereign Statehood" status upon petition to the US Government.

Perhaps it is time to let them go. They clearly don't want to be a State of the Union.

IMHO

Are there any oil men in Texas that are not somehow linked?
You might as well try to find a rich man on Nantucket that is not somehow linked to the Kennedy's.

Oh What a big SURPRISE . . . . how many shares does the bush crime family have . .. or is it a subsidiary co of the sainted carlyle group or halliburton ... or was it part of mama bush's dowry . . . .

these guys are so blantantly arrogant and still Congress hasn't the balls to impeach them . . what the hell is going on . . . have they all been promised shares . . .

A huge meeting about the Iraqi Hydrocarbon Law started on September 2, 2007 in Dubai. Right now, the talks are still going on and the Iraqi representatives are saying that the Hydrocarbon Law will likely pass next month, after the Iraqi government reviews everything one last time.

I wonder how Iraqi citizens are going to feel, knowing that Exxon-Mobil, Shell, Chevron, British Petroleum, and Texas Oil Bush-men, will soon be in control of 80% of THEIR Oil and won't have to hire any of them or pay the Iraqi government any taxes on the profits they will make?

The Kurds seem to be doing their own wheeling and dealing, so they may have a different strategy and will ignore the Hydrocarbon Law. Good for them! It will show Bush that not everyone in Iraq is going to be like his puppet, al-Maliki, and give him and his Oil buddies what they want; while bending over or brown nosing the greedy Oil barons and Bush...

Well I sent the whole AP article along with the info about his appointment by mr.bush to Cafferty, Matthews and Keith Olbermann, all in one e-mail - just to kind of give a dig to the first 2 since they rarely jump on something right away, Matthews in particular always seems to wait until he sees which way the wind is blowing. But Keith, now Keith is another story.
I respectfully asked them if they were going to make a comment or investigate if this was appropriate given his ties to the government.
Now off to send it to our lovely Nancy. and who knows who else. Once I get started I can't seem to stop.

Um, anyone who thought this entire Iraq invasion was about anything but Oil, is seriously lacking brain matter, like our Prez.
Bush and Cheney, for the millionth time, had an agreement in 2003 drawn up, which states all the major oil companies get a thirty year contract with Iraq, to suck their oil out, and they don't have to reinvest a dime in the country. THAT'S WHY THEY WON'T SIGN! It's not because they are fighting over the oil, which they are, but they refuse to let Bush take their oil from them. Wonder what all you good little Republs still supporting this idiot would do if say, Iraq had invaded us, taken out our dictator, and blew our country to shreds, killed thousands upon thousands and then said, ok were taking all your natural resources! Except for the part about getting rid of our dictator, I highly doubt anyone would be happy! In addition to that, say we had no electricty, water, jobs, food, or hope!
How many would rise up to defend our country, irregardless who our leader was?
Our military did exactly what they were suppose to do. They got rid of Saddam. That's what Bushy said was the goal, at least that week it was. So, now what these soldiers are suppose to stay over there as so much cannon fodder for Dipstick and his sidkick, Darth Cheney! To get shot and killed for what? Oil, I think not. We must call the Republicans on their constatnt rap of "fight em over there" bullshit! If they want to fight them over there, fine, go fight em. take your kids, grandkids, whomever you want. Our military men and women will be home with their familes. Finally. Oh, if only it were so.
