Think Progress:

Tomorrow night, after spending the day telling Congress that President Bush's Iraq escalation should continue, Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker will take their PR campaign to a more comfortable setting: Fox News.

On Fox News Sunday this morning, host Chris Wallace announced the interview:

WALLACE: Now a special program note. Tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. eastern on the Fox News Channel, Brit will have an exclusive interview with General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker about the state of the Iraq war and their testimony to Congress. Please be sure to watch.

It is inappropriate for Gen. Petraeus to give interviews such as this, coupled so closely with his report. This is not a PR War against the American People, General.

Whose decision was it to have the General appear on Fox News? I doubt if it was the General's.

P.S. Saw your Congressional testimony. You and Ambassador Ryan Crocker don't do yourselves (or the United States) any good when you persistantly lump "Al Qaida of Iraq" in with the global Al Qaida group. AQI is a tiny group; most of the violence the US is fighting in Iraq is Sunni-on-Sunni, Shiite-on-Shiite, or Sunni/Shiite conflict. AQI didn't *exist* before 9/11/2001.

Even General Petraeus HIMSELF said, "Most of the foreign fighters are coming to Iraq from SAUDI ARABIA or North Africa." If this is true, *why* aren't we holding the Saudi government responsible? Oh...that's right: because we can't.

9/11:
17-18 of 20 hijackers were Saudi.
Zero were Iraqi.

The deflection of the blame from Saudi Arabia to Iraq is the biggest accomplishment of the Bush administration. Some "accomplishment."

Feel good darlin', Faux is really screwing you up the ass, but doesn't that make you feel warm and fuzzy.

Hey, MoveOn: For that dog and pony show - can we make sure Michael Vick isn't invited?

You mean General BETRAYUS - the straight shooter - will give an Interview (rehearsed talking points)on FAKE NONSENSE.
Boy, you gotta hand it to them, with all their disasters, they just won't give up.
I wish the DEMS showed half the BALLS of the REPUGLICONS.
They have the truths on their side, but never know how to use it to their advantage.
They make me nearly as sick the REPUGS.

Seems reasonable... a White House press conference, following up after Petraeus' testimony, using Fox Rentals for the soundstage.

If the Administration resorts to ridiculous stunts such as going to an air force base in the middle of the Anbar wilderness in the middle of the night unannouced, then I applaud MoveOn.org for their "dog and pony show" antics. I wonder how difficult would it be to re-create life at a Baghdad market albeit with ink tags just to show our Representatives what life for the average Iraqi is really like. I've now read in a few columns about Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and her less than impressed visit to Baghdad. It pays to be a skeptic. I don't know on which committees she serves on, but I do hope she gets to ask the inconvenient questions.

Wow. I wonder just what "consultant" money the military industrial complex has offered this worm upon his retirement to sell out the troops like this. What a disgrace. You know they're gonna' make this man very very rich.

The FOX ONLY news interviews by Bush flacks who are also, allegedly, high ranking US officials, is precisely the reason NO DEMOCRAT should ever appear on the Bush Republican Noise Network. FOX is the Official Organ of the Bush Administration, and the rest of us are getting screwed. Let's not feed the beast and allow them the pretense of "Fair and Balanced", let's let it be what it is: The Republican News Outlet, and Petrateus is Pandering. Ambition trumps Integrity, once again! Why the surprise!

Truly, Petraeus must recognize the damage he does to military reputations if he chooses to interview solely on Fox network. It is an unworthy venue for a military leader. Shame on you General Petraeus.

Absolutely nothing is real anymore. Fox, Fox lite, the MSM, Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, even us Huff bloggers. Its all a distraction to give us the illusion that a difference can be made. It can't!

I wonder how much money Rupert Murdock is making on the war. He is the 21st century version of Hearst and his yellow journalism that pushed the Spanish-American war for profit.
