Another new arrival in the West Wing set up a rapid-response PR unit hard-wired into Petraeus's shop. Ed Gillespie, the new presidential counselor, organized daily conference calls at 7:45 a.m. and again late in the afternoon between the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, and the U.S. Embassy and military in Baghdad to map out ways of selling the surge.

From the start of the Bush plan, the White House communications office had been blitzing an e-mail list of as many as 5,000 journalists, lawmakers, lobbyists, conservative bloggers, military groups and others with talking points or rebuttals of criticism. Between Jan. 10 and last week, the office put out 94 such documents in various categories -- "Myths/Facts" or "Setting the Record Straight" to take issue with negative news articles, and "In Case You Missed It" to distribute positive articles or speeches.

What would make a general betray his soldiers?

What price would be enough?

Don't they look like they are having a good time? Petraeus looks positively in love. They both make me sick, and if the Democrats don't give them hell we should vote them out, too.

And have journalists have become so lazy, or so frustrated that they have become willing to accept government handouts without question? And media complain that no one is watching, I can read government handouts everywhere, why do I need a second hand report that repeats them?

.

Perhaps a Democratic Senator will ask Petraeus the Great how much of his day is spent on military matters, and how much is spent on public relations.

General, soldiers are not sales tools.

Petraeus is a bus boy, to a bus boy of the Oil Barons.
They have both been given their marching orders long ago, and all of this behind the curtains bickering, is to establish their places in the pecking order, when they hit the stage. Hopefully the public, doesn't fall for it, demands a refund, and decides to leave this theatre of madness and preemptive war insanity, for a real confrontation, with America's real enemy, the Oil Cartels, and the associated conglomerates, that are doing everything within their power to stir up all of this death and destruction.

Chinless little Ed is SO not relevant, let him email the WHOLE country, and you can't change the UTTER Failure in Iraq. ONLY a political solution changes Iraq...they've said that for 3 years...it didn't happen.
We reluctantly agreed to a Surge ONLY because Petraeus was deemed honest to return in September with an HONEST REPORT...just THIS Friday we are told there is NO MOTHERF*CKIN'
REPORT!
We The People are FED UP with Cheney jerking our chain...GET THE F*CK OUT....NOW!

Lets see the Bush Adminstration has TRASHED the Justice Department with Politico's, THRASHED the FDA with Politico's, TRASHED the Supreme Court with Politico's, TRASHED the Veterans Adminstration with Politico's and every other agency of the Federal Government!
Why would you ever expect to get anything HONEST REPORT, ACCOUNTING, OR ACCESSMENT from the Bush Adminstration.
The onlt reson I can see for going along with Bush on any promise is to allow him to dig a deeper hole that will make IMPEACHEMENT a lot easier.
