Bills Tight End Likely Paralyzed For Life

Everett suffered a fracture dislocation of the cervical spine and an injury to the cervical spinal cord between the third and fourth vertebrae while making a tackle on the second-half kickoff in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

The 25-year-old player, who according to the Bills' medical director Dr. John Marzo was "alert, reactive and responsive" when he arrived on the field but was unable to move his extremities, underwent four hours of surgery at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo Sunday night.
