After Smoke Free Day and Car Free Day comes Sarkozy Free Day.

A group called Democracy in Television wants French media to kick its apparent addiction to President Nicolas Sarkozy by not mentioning the hyperactive leader on November 30.

"Break your habits for 24 hours and help French people detox themselves from media Sarkozitis," it said in a statement.

"Sarkosy l'americain"
I am so fed up of Sarkosy also.
This guy's head keep inflating with all the often ridiculous press coverage he gets from his "friends"
I have never seen such an opportunistic dude and I seriously doubt his sanity.

I have to admit though that he is a damn good politicial campainer.

Of jewish origin and reportedly a good friend of Benjamin Netanyahu, he has managed to use it's allegiance to the movement to recruit in the opponent left wing socialist party, folks like Dominique Strauss Khan, spring loaded Bernard Kouchner and a few others who are standing by to push the french equivalent of the AIPAC's agenda.
No wonder why he has a very good relation with bush.
He has also succeded in seriously messing up the only real opposition party with this recruiting of elements who have other agendas that they place over their allegiance to the socialist principles.

Didnt the same thing happen in U.S. politics where the democratic party has been infiltrated with the likes of Lieberman and a few others who do not hesitate to vote with the republicans on important things?

Living in Luxembourg, with French TV and radio news, I really wish that could be true. We hear read see Sarkozy ad nauseum. I didn't even vote for him! 24 hours would be a blessing, though not enough for a lot of people.

I don't watch French TV but from the coverage of Sarkozy, this sounds like Bill Clinton at the beginning of his first term. Even after the inauguration, Clinton was criticized for still campaigning rather than presiding.
