Giuliani's Support Soft In Key States

First Posted: 03/28/08 03:45 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:15 PM ET

Rudolph W. Giuliani has been well ahead of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination in nationwide polls, but he is far weaker in the crucial states that will cast early votes in the nominating process next year, according to a new Los Angeles Times/ Bloomberg poll that underscores how unsettled the GOP race remains.

Among Republican voters, Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, trails Mitt Romney in Iowa and New Hampshire, and he lags behind Fred Thompson in South Carolina.

However, Giuliani is only a few points behind the leader in New Hampshire and South Carolina -- within the poll's margin of error -- suggesting that the race in those two states is too tight for anyone to be declared a clear front-runner.

Clinton must be widening her lead because the other candidates seem to being going after Obama more. Perhaps this is because they see him as being a weak link.

They have given up trying to displace Clinton as the frontrunner but hope to replace Obama as the second place candidate. This week there were reports of Edwards, Dodd, and Biden attacking Obama.

Clinton Widens Democratic Lead ???

The M$M said the same thing about Howard Dean. Just WHO is the M$M 'trying' to fool?; ... NOT US!

Can you say, $850,000.00 ???

You expect us to believe this story because the M$M reports it ??? The people are not THAT dumb.

Please... don't believe these polls, no one can check who they polled or if they're just making this stuff up.

It's 9/12 and Trudy is coming back to earth. By the next anniversary he will once again be the footnote that he has always been.

One thing that I don't like about Giulliani is that he is a thug.

Concentrate, think long and hard, there must be more than one thing you don't like about Rooty, you far left radical America hater.
01:00 PM on 09/12/2007
Rooty spent 29 hours at ground zero, wandering around looking for his command center.

The article is 100% accurate. Iowa's social conservatives dominate the primaries, New Hampshire gets its tv news from Massachusetts making Romney a favorite son in NH and South Carolina? Duh--like anyone other than the SoCon's favorite son, Fred Thompson, is going to win there. Hell, if Strom Thurmond could be propped in his casket, he'd still win there.

Barring some mishap, the GOP is going to be split in two for the 08 election. The snake handling social conservatives will get either Romney or Thompson. The libertarian big city Republicans will definitely have a candidate with Giuliani.

The main problem I'm having with Giuliani is that he is giving away the store to the socons with his promise of "strict constructionist" judges to the Bible thumpers. SCOTUS is going to be a big issue this time around. Judges like Alioto and Roberts are totally unacceptable and frankly are a deal breaker.

What is more interesting is while Thompson could win the GOP nomination, there isn't a single poll that shows him capable of winning against Clinton. There are about 4% of the Republicans who will not vote for him and would rather see a Dem in power than another whacked out Bible thumping social conservative.

Oh Mike . . . I find it hard to believe that anyone wants clinton . . . I just do not believe the spin machine . . . and to ensure against voter apathy . . . we have to make sure this bitch . . . is toast asap -- she is a paid up member of the AIPAC and has repeatedly shown bad judgement . . . America can definitely live without her . . . don't really care who is first with the GOPs . . . if they can't see through giuliani . . . they really have no sense and no feeling . . . just a thought . . .think hillary should move over to the GOPs . . . she has been very pro-chimp in her voting record

Soon every if not all American Voters will have no choice other than to vote for the hero Giuliani once they learn that their very lives depend on it.

Make no mistake - without Rudolph W. Giuliani we all would have been dead after 9/11. He is right to mention 9/11 at least once every five minutes a day. Voters must be figuratively and literally beaten over the head with the lessons of 9/11 unless we all want to die. 9/11 is the only issue that can ever and will ever matter in the 2008 election.

Vote for Rudy in 2008 or die. It really is that simple. 9/11! 9/11! 9/11!

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ?
IF BY CHANCE YOU LEARN, THEN READ THE FACTS:
HOW HE NEGLECTED TO COORDINATE THE EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS (RADIOS), FOR 7 YEARS, BETWEEN THE POLICE AND THE FIREMEN; HOW HE PUT THE EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER IN THE WORLD TRADE CENTER (AND CONSEQUENTLY GUARANTEED ITS DESTRUCTION); HOW HE CHOSE TO MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS EXPLOITING 9/11 RATHER THAN HELPING WITH THE 9/11 COMMISSION; HOW HE CONDONED POLICE BRUTALITY (RESULTING IN THE LOWEST FAVORABILITY RATING OF ANY NY MAYOR IN HISTORY); CHEATED ON HIS SECOND WIFE IN PUBLIC (EVEN BROUGHT HER TO THE FAMILY HOME WITH THE CHILDREN PRESENT)); I DON'T KNOW ABOUT HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE, BUT I WOULDN'T GIVE THE JOB OF DOGCATCHER TO A MAN WHOSE CHILDREN REFUSED TO SEE HIM--NO ONE KNOWS YOU BETTER THAN YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY.
