I am no fan of Couric and am just as appalled as others about her Iraq reports last week. However, must she be denigrated with descriptions such as "whore" and "bitch"? Do you use similar words to describe the countless men who everyday tout the neocon agenda both on cable news and in print media? Should the focus be more on her actions rather than demeaning her womanhood? Man or woman, those that promote the Bush sell on the war are certainly pitiful pawns. On that we can agree. But can we keep her gender out of it? Certainly people like Beck and O'Reilly and Limbaugh do far more harm in my view.

Couric has always been a shill for the right wing. She just didn't show it quite as obviously before she hit the evening news. To call her a "journalist" is to abuse the language.

Oh sure, they're going to eventually replace Couric with a real journalist. And the next president isn't going to be a special-interest whore either.

First, no one watches her show.

She is an embarrassment to any legitimate reporter. The news is the furthest thing from her mind. Reporting is only an unavoidable inconvenience to her main objectives: making money and rubbing shoulders with celebrities and people in power.

Even Admiral William Fallon, chief of the Central Command, is more liberal and perceptive than Couric. During her Iraq trip, she repeated the Republican hype that General Petraeus is a "straight-shooter." In the latest news reports, Admiral Fallon is quoted as saying that Petraeus is "an ass-kicking little chickenshit," a sycophant acting as the front man for the Bush administration.

Does the perky salesgirl/infotainer working as an overpaid news reader think she can increase her ratings by forming an alliance with Dubya's abysmal unpopular administration?
