Oprah would bring heaven down if she handed out the 30M to 30 people and make them millionnaires rather than worry about those puppies. Her puppies have found 30 families to care for them 24/7.

Fact is many, many people provide in their wills for their pet care. Many people provide in the millions. So if Oprah did this, it is not an unusual act.

And do any of you know how expensive it would be to maintain pets in an environment they are used to? If one can afford to provide a home they are used to, feeding, vet bills, then who cares. Who are you to judge or say "she can just give her four pets to relatives or the SPCA."

Long ago the courts have turned away warring relatives, etc. who argues that leaving money to pets was "irrational," "unjust," or signs of dementia. Of course, these attempts were simply an attempt by the disinherited to get money that otherwise the deceased did not intend to leave the people.

Absent signs of an unsound mind at the time the will was signed, one cannot contest the will. And no matter how detestable or "mean" some bequests may seem, the will cannot be challenged.

And since Oprah is worth about $1.5 billion, who cares what she does with a few million. No one can tell her how to spend her money while she is living, why should that change on her death. [If you think the contrary you are simply poor, unsuccessful and stupid].

Oprah and others already give a lot of money away. I guess some people think that is not enough. What a bunch of have-not sheet for brains.

Must be lonely at the top. Oprah has lost touch with the people she knew before she became a star, people whose lives could be changed by a million and could be trusted to care for her pets.

I don't watch or follow Oprah, but it seems she is being very philanthropic with her money, building schools etc.

If I had that kind of dough I would leave a pile of it to my four dogs too.
