Howie Kurtz Loves His Bodacious B-Roll

Howie Kurtz Loves His Bodacious B-Roll

2007-09-24-LauraIngrahamlovesbroll.JPGOh, we couldn't help loving this one. We have often noted that Howie Kurtz manages to strike the perfect balance on "Reliable Sources," wondering if the media is fixating too much on the celeb scandal of the day — often focusing on figures like Britney or Lindsay or Anna Nicole — all the while devoting delicious airtime to hashing through that very scandal, to the sweet, sweet sight of b-roll playing all throughout. We noticed this last week during the discussion on Britney ("Britney bombs. OK, we get it. Why does television keep playing this footage again and again?" "Sure, she bombed but the media just won't let go of Britney Spears' bizarre MTV appearance." "She was horrible. And that sleazy outfit. How many times have we seen it now?" However many times it was, Kurtz added to it considerably over the course of the next segment.

Which is why this week we were so tickled to see him ask guest Laura Ingraham about her book, Power to the People, wherein she decries the smut whoring up the airwaves. Then Kurtz asks her about an experience she had while on Neil Cavuto's show, and...well, just watch.

Kurtz, you are SO BUSTED! Highly amusing.

Slightly less amusing: This snip from Amazon's P2P description: "Ingraham exposes the threats we face from an emboldened cultural Left, global dogmatists, science worshippers, and politicians who spend more time on their hair than on constituency outreach." DOWN WITH THE SCIENCE WORSHIPPERS! The dinosaurs would totally beat them in a one-on-one fight — and may just yet.
