The murder trial of music producer Phil Spector ended in a mistrial Wednesday because of a deadlocked jury.
All jurors told Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler they could not reach a verdict.
"At this time, I will find that the jury is unable to arrive at a verdict and declare a mistrial in this matter," the judge said.

All his lawyers have to "prove" is that there is doubt about the guilt of their client. Remember doubt, not innocence. The state/city has to prove guilt, without doubt. It seems that there in no physical evidence as to prove guilt. It is a matter of he said, with no she said because they were alone. Remember , the prosecution has to prove he did the crime, aka burden of proof is with the state.

Your law 101 bit seems unaware that his driver heard him say "I think I killed somebody" and if I recall correctly, said it -gun in hand.... Also one of the forensic experts hired by the defense is known to have tampered with the evidence-removing certain key details from the crime scene.
Hanky panky, shadiness and stooping to the lowest, ie. smearing the victim as they did -a credible defense it does not make. This seems just one more case of a rabbit in the headlights jury - with one possibly two morons unable to tell what's what.
Spector was known for leaving tips of $450 to waitresses for a $27 meal. He has money to burn, and obviously some of that money found its way those two jurors.
LA juries wouldn't find Jack the Ripper guilty of murder.

I listened as often as I could, and I saw nothing that indicated a juror could come up with a not guilty verdict.

Once again Los Angeles proves it is a beacon of jurisprudence. They have proven that even with one of the largest and most diverse jury pools in the world that it is impossible to find 12 jurors without agendas or an ounce of brains.
Way to go LA you have once more shown you are completely incapable of judging anyone with a miniscule amount of fame.

Go read the wikipedia entry on everything that Phil Spector has accomplished. His contribution to music is immeasurable. He has improved our lives.
Sure, it's easy to sit here and judge and snipe at the guy now that he's old and eccentric. But judge not. You weren't on the jury, you didn't hear the evidence.
Yes, he's an amazingly gifted music producer. He's also a murderer.
OJ was a gifted athlete , but he still murdered his wife and Ron Goldman.
I have a different opinion about Phil Spector's so-called contribution. I think that the 'wall of sound' is overrated. I get tired listening to 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' and the other tunes he produced but I never tire of the music of The Beatles (except for Let It Be - that's largely junk, and we can blame Spector for part of that).
99.9% of of the music of the 50's, 60's & 70's was music that Spector played no role in producing, and had no influence on. There are many artists, bands and producers who had a greater influence on music than Spector did.
And none of them killed anyone, either.
I'm on my way over to Wikipedia right now to add a little truth and perspective.
