Sunni Arab extremists have begun a systematic campaign to assassinate police chiefs, police officers, other Interior Ministry officials and tribal leaders throughout Iraq, staging at least 10 attacks in 48 hours.

Eight policemen have been killed, among them the police chief of Baquba, the largest city in Diyala Province. Two other police chiefs survived attacks, though one was left in critical condition, and about 30 police officers were wounded, according to reports from local security officers.

"We warned the government just a few days ago that there is a new plan by terrorist groups to target senior governmental officials, and particularly Interior Ministry officials," said Maj. Gen. Hussein Kamal, the deputy interior minister for information and national investigations. The Interior Ministry is dominated by Shiites.

During a lock-out in Dundalk at the beginning of last year, a girl picket was arrested for striving to induce another girl not to blackleg. She was summarily tried and sentenced to prison on a charge of "indecent conduct in the streets". No unclean language or action had been attributed to her and the police evidence simply stated that she had persisted in picketing, yet the cold-blooded scoundrelism of the authorities framed a charge against her calculated to blast her character and ruin her whole life. If she had been a daughter of an Irish farmer fighting an Irish landlord in Land League days the then Irish Party would have made the world ring with their denunciations of such character assassinations; but she was only an Irish working girl fighting an Irish employer, and none of the Irish heroes who, on the platforms of the Liberal Party in England, are fighting for the "Glory of God and the Honour of Erin", had time to waste on such as her.

Zachary Tomczak of Huron has died in Iraq. The 24-year-old Tomczak served with the Army's 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. Details of his death have not been released yet by the Defense Department.

Well, the US is arming Shiates and Sunnis.

The Sunnis believe the government is fair game because only Shiates remain in the parliment and the police turn their backs on Shiate violence.

Yesterday Maliki announced "Secterian violence is over!"

Bush could care less about what is happening in Iraq; he only cares about the stupid OIL!

Show him reports from legitimate sources about this assassination campaign by Sunni insurgents, and he'll shrug his shoulders and walk away.

But show him that there is a rupture or break in an Iraqi OIL pipeline--he's on the phone in 2 seconds, making sure that the OIL leak is stopped NOW.

What a hypocrite!
