New York Sun:

Frustrated by press leaks about its most sensitive electronic surveillance work, the secretive National Security Agency convened an unprecedented series of off-the-record "seminars" in recent years to teach reporters about the damage caused by such leaks and to discourage reporting that could interfere with the agency's mission to spy on America's enemies.

The half-day classes featured high-ranking NSA officials highlighting objectionable passages in published stories and offering "an innocuous rewrite" that officials said maintained the "overall thrust" of the articles but omitted details that could disclose the agency's techniques, according to course outlines obtained by The New York Sun.

DEMAND each news outlet release the names of all reporters or media personnel who attended these government paid for "seminars".

Better yet, have Congress require the NSA to release the names of all media personnel who participated in these taxpayer paid "seminars".

Since no official secrets were disclosed (just talk about the damage of releasing secret information) then this list should not be protected.

"Off the record" conversations are to protect the source identity, not the reporters' identities. They can keep the names of the NSA personnel secret, just give us the names of the reporters.

Reporters school NSA on importance of Bill of Rights, warrants, unlawful search and seizure, First Amendment, Congress's oversight role, etc.

Oops, wrong article.

Hey, Hey, NSA
Which American did you spy on today.

I think the press, and America in general would be a lot more prone to assisting the NSA once they quit spying, without warrants, on American citizens, in violation of the law.

The damage caused by the leak in the levy in New Orleans was profound.
Compromising the super secret NSA/Bell South communications hub in the lower ninth ward and spreading top secret documents in the flood waters was THE REASON NO CIVILIANS WERE ALLOWED INTO THE CITY TO RESCUE THE THOUSANDS OF VICTIMS.

They died to keep a secret. Don't print that.

Their lives were sacrificed so NSA could continue spying on YOU. Your Welcome!

Thermal imaging of rooftops in the ninth ward was conducted for security only...not rescue.

You got any evidence WHATSOEVER of your claims?

All the NSA needs in a "communications hub" or "Central Office" as they're more commonly called is a little software. Perhaps a single fiber optic line.

There would be no reason, no benefit to store secret documents in a telephone company office.

All the "spying work" (and paperwork) would be in the NSA's offices near DC. And if you've ever worked with secret documents, you know they'd be stored in locked filed cabinets that would sink like stones in a flood.

Again, please show me a SINGLE url, reference, for anything youv'e said. Otherwise, please STFU.

Oh yeah, sorry I forgot to mention my SOURCES!

Nice try.

Debunking my comment for being unsourced conjecture with your own unsourced conjectures is classic Rove.

It is my right as an AMERICAN to not STFU.

You are just jealous because you publishers have to work really hard and risk so much while anyone else can enjoy their FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
