McCain's Daughter Aims To Be Next Wonkette

Meghan McCain, daughter of presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain, could be the next Wonkette by the 2008 election. Beginning today, the younger McCain will bring life on the campaign trail to the voter with her new blog, McCain Blogette. She revealed the endeavor at a private lunch Thursday for the McCains hosted by People managing editor Larry Hackett, which several People editors and Time Inc. executives Ann Moore, John Huey and Jim Kelly also attended. "We were basically loosely inspired by Hunter S. Thompson's 'Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail,' but for more of this generation," said Meghan, who will do the blog with her friend La-Toria Haven. She added the blog will include audio, video and text on "everything from really serious things like the debates and town halls to our suitcases when we get to the hotel and there's just crap absolutely everywhere." To those wondering if her 71-year-old father's adventures will move slower than a Florida recount, take note: "Anyone that talks about dad's age, I challenge you to come on the road with him. I've drank more Red Bull in the last two months than I have in my life," said Meghan, who graduated from Columbia University this spring. "I start off the morning with two."
