The Trail:

Former Dick Gephardt presidential campaign adviser Moses Mercado hasn't even joined the Barack Obama presidential campaign team and already he's making waves.

Mercado, a veteran field man who organized Gephardt's primary operations in Arizona and New Mexico, and later John Kerry's general election operations there, confirmed he is finalizing plans to serve as a senior adviser to the Obama campaign.

He has to do what he has to do in order to beat Hillary so I'm not mad.Because he's not getting any help from nobody else. And this is a huge task trying to take down the Clintons. For all the nay-sayers out there you sound bitter, jaded, and quite frankly racist.

More dysfunctional screwball racial politics from rubyred20... point out yet another blatantly hypocritical move from the phony baloney O-Bomb-A campaign and they start whining "racist... racist... racist."

The lion sleeps tonight. Owner of a big chunk of the Serengeti is supporting Obama. I did not know Tanzania was owned by white guys.

Paul Tudor Jones hosts fundraiser for Democratic candidate
Paul Tudor Jones threw a 500-guest fundraiser for Democratic hopeful Barack Obama on May 19th, at his seaside mansion in Greenwich CT (George Soros is another Obama supporter). Head of the $15bn Tudor Investment Corporation, Paul Tudor Jones is also a renowned philanthropist. His holdings include 340,000 acres of Tanzania's Grumeti Reserves, bordering the Serengeti National Park; his luxury camps there are managed by the Singita group, www.singita.co.za.

Maybe Obama should just settle for the MNVP award. "Not voting", per his official Senate website. Talk the talk. OK, but walk the walk.

Dodging the issues makes him look untrustworthy and calculating. Is this where we're going? If so, I'm out. We've already got plenty of that to choose from.

Did Gephardt win the nomination? Did Kerry carry Arizona or New Mexico? Whomever this guy has lobbyed for, his track record in electoral politics seems a bit lacking. If Obama is looking for losers we can find a ton. McCarthy, McGovern, Udall, Brown, Hart, Gore, etc. The only people who seem inspired by Obama are those youngsters who haven't been around the block a few times. They will learn. I just hope they don't become bitter.

I thought Barak fired the Jewish Gephardt guy, David Plouffe and hired a black gal who worked for mayor Dailey, Valerie Jarrett. Now he hires another Gephart guy, only this time a Jewish Mexican, Moses Mercado.

What next an Muslim Irishman, Mohammad Mahoney?

What color is the Obama campaign?

Is this where Obama is headed? So much for the anti lobbyist gig and trying to be John Edwards. Just proves that Obama is who we all knew who he was from the beginning, a guy who took lobbyist money.

Desperation = compromise of "principles"! I have always maintained that Barack Hussein was all hot air and fluff! At the end of the day it is ALL about grabbing power!

All those who claim to be "fighting for the people" cannot fool all the people all the time!

Still calling him "Barack Hussein" huh?

You have to be one of the most conspicuously xenophobic bloggers on this site...

And I'm sure you're proud of that...

I'm sure Obama will bring on even more insiders as he puts himself in a great position to win the nomination.

So many people are missing the point about Obama. Some months ago, RusStyles, one of my favorite bloggers/commenters on HUFFPO threads, made a great point about Obama:

"...to use a sports analogy, if you're playing basketball with players that throw elbows and the refs don't call it, what do you do? You play by the unwritten rules to be competitive, and ultimately win. Once you become top dog, you're in a better position to change "some" of the rules. No politician can make wholesale changes to a system this rooted."

I agree with this analogy. You can't pretend that "the system" doesn't exist. You can't. You have to find a way to be apart of the system, and over time, put yourself in a postion to make profound changes...which is what Barack will do.

Go Barack.

Just another futile attempt to garb hypocrisy! Oh! The speeches on "not beholden to special interest groups and lobbyists"! Remember the Gander and Goose axiom?!

The guy is(was)a lobbyist for the Carlyle Group and the NRA? Say it ain't so... Big misstep for Barack! Gee and he even has a losing track record.
