Actor Hugh Grant seems to be relishing his newfound single life. After being seen on a string of mystery dates, naughty Hugh was photographed in the company of a pretty young blonde, and several of her pals.

In town for a golf tournament at the world famous St Andrews course - Grant attended a gala dinner, but later it appears the actor ditched his golfing pals to cosy up to the mystery woman and her friends in what looks like student digs.

Hugh Grant has a certain form of charisma, but I found I couldn't watch him anymore in movies, because he's only in the "chick-flicks," and I can't stand those types of films.

Why do women like him? Being a guy, I always thought it was because he seems to be "one of the girls." Really. He seems just like the women in expression and personality. But now all the posters are referring to him like he's a stud. Live and learn, I guess.

I liked him in films I've seen. Sense of modesty about himself and a sense of humor. He is charming but I guess women feel they could connect with him in more than a physical way.

This picture, however, reminds me of what Jon Stewart said at a comedy show I saw outside Philly. When a sorority girl invited him to a party after the show and he declined, he had two words: Joey Buttafuoco. That is, Jon is in his 40s and these girls are half his age (Jon also is married with a child -- at least one, anyway.)

So, this seems like the faculty is getting it on with a student imo. Hey, I think a lot of the, um, young men in my classes are hot. But I also know that: 1) I am their instructor; and 2) I am twice their age. Not very likely a good combo.

Usually, a twenty year age difference makes me go "ick" and I turn on the snark. Hugh has kept himself in shape, he's charming as all get out and he's brilliantly good looking.

The guy's pushing 50 and it seems to me he's in pretty good shape for that age. Most of us get overtaken by "the bloat", as you put it, soon after 30.

So what, exactly, is "sad" about this? You obviously want to see him suffer, and I find that much sadder.
