Nintendo Wii Fit Shapes Up For Japan

The Wii Fit board was shown off to a combination of amazement and groans of despair at this year's E3. Gamers thought two things at once: that Nintendo was going to sell a metric ton of these things, and that the company was moving even further away from the hardcore base of gamers. The flat peripheral allows the Wii to make sure you're doing pushups, balancing workouts, and things like step aerobics correctly while keeping track of your weight as you go. Fitness is a big market, and working out with games can have some very good results. Now we know the release date and price for the Wii Fit hardware and software, in Japan at least. The platform will launch on December 1 for ¥8,800, around $75.
