On "The View" on Thursday, Barbara Walters talked to "Men in Trees" star Anne Heche, who recently got divorced from Coley Lafoon, the father of her son. Walters point blank told Heche she thought her marriage was going to fail. Even better than that blunt comment may have been the facial reaction of Walter's cohost Whoopi Goldberg.

Whoopi's expressions are priceless. I don't usually like the show, but I can't believe Whoopi held her composure and didn't blurt out "you're a friggin lesbian, girl"?????

Walters in my opinion has never done anything well and I cannot understand how she was ever able to get on TV in the first place. All she does is read those cards and really, I don't think she ever has listened to the answers she got from the people she tried to interviewed. Just reads her questions in the order they were written, one after another. I wonder what keeps her on the air on any level. Who in Hollywood thinks she has any value added over anyone else?

She is better known as a woman who made it in a man's world and one of the pioneers of dumbed down infotainment TV.

Now she survives on her long ago fame and her connections at ABC. She created The View but heavily depends on other cohosts for ratings.

She used to be known for bringing out personal aspects of celebrities she interviewed, not because of her talents but because of capable researchers whom she didn't give due credit. She built her career on the backs of others.

Baba Wawa was to ABC Evening News as Katie Couric was to CBS Evening News. ABC pulled her out of the evening news before she caused more damage and assigned her to the fluffier side of their news division.

Baba Wawa was instrumental in trashing TV news with celebrity stories and slowly converting TV news to infotainment. She is partly responsible for the MSM's dumbed down status.

The essence of a real journalist is the ability to listen, and Barbara rarely does. Her conversations would be so much better if she would ditch the canned questions, and the earpiece. Between glancing back and forth at her cards, and being aware of the directions being fed through her ear, how can she even concentrate or hear?

I hope you are just joking because really BW is an icon to american woman journalist all over. Yes she is slipping, but I think and I mean this with all due respect that we should not forget the trail she paved for women in journalism and as a feminist as well. I don't think it is alzheimers I think it is an attempt to show that she can keep things real by asking the questions and making the comments that make people at home have the same reaction as whoopi had, you know kind of like looking at a couple in public fighting. You don't want to know what it is about but really deep inside you do. She is just trying to keep her show revelent.

She was an icon. She did pave a trail for women journalists. But she jumped the shark a *long* time ago. I would never watch this drivel regardless of who is on, but she is making a fool out of herself, not only with her own antics but with some of the people she has hired. what the HELL?! why does Huffington Post rehash The View EVERY SINGLE DAY?! or EVER?! Who cares? About a year ago I started reading Huffington Post because it seemed like a fairly legitimate news source... but what is going on with the constant fixation with The View?! Is this trying to expand the HuffPo demographic to sycophantic imbeciles?

You're going to lose your audience HuffPo... but probably rake in ad revenue from Weight Watchers and Prozac... so I guess it works out for HuffPo, and those of us with half a brain will look for our news and commentary elsewhere?
