The following Q&A With Jenna Bush is from Time Magazine's weekly 10 Questions feature where readers submit questions online.

Below is a question from Donald Pence, San Francisco about Jenna Bush service in Iraq.

If the war in Iraq is so noble, why aren't you and your sister serving our country there?

Jenna Bush: I understand that point, but there are many ways to serve our country, and I think my skills are better suited for teaching and representing the U.S. in Latin America through unicef. I respect the men and women of our country who are over there fighting. It is an unbelievably selfless thing to do. But if people really thought about it, they would know it's not even a practical question.

It's funny that somehow it is not a fair question to ask politicians who support a war, why aren't you willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice? The people who bring up the Kerry daughter or Chelsea Clinton obligation to serve are right, especially if those daughters support the carnage in Iraq. To my knowledge they do not. I'm not sure that Jenna Bush does either. It is fair to ask these girls whether or not they should serve given Bush, Kerry and Clinton's support of the war. The parents can't force the children to serve anyway. Not that they would. One more thing, Bush as initiator of the war holds more responsibility than the weaklings who wouldn't stand up to him, but a vote for Hillary would be a vote to continue more of the same lies and coverups.

So why is it that Chelsea Clinton is not in Iraq fighting for the War her Momma voted for?

Oh that's right, she's making 6 figures with her History degree working for a wallstreet financial outfit. Code for corporate pay-off to the Clinton's. Interesting isn't it? That someone with a HISTORY degree is offered 6 figures to help a big money financial company? I think we can all see through that one right? Lets pay off the daughter and get influence with the Senator Clinton and former president Clinton! Some day that may give the old company influence in the Whitehouse if Hillary gets in!

Now why is it that the Media and the Clintons don't want any press on Chelsea? Could it be they don't want to expose the corporate pay-offs to the Clinton family the good old "influence peddling" via the child scam? Or are the Clintons ashamed of the fact that their daughter didn't go to Iraq and fight for the War that mom voted for and supported?

You see, it's all nonsense. Young ladies for the most part are not raised with a mind set to be a warrior, not in the US. It matters little if Chelsea is being paid 6 figures for having the name Clinton and not fighting in Iraq or if a Bush girl is selling books as first daughter and not fighting it Iraq. Or if the Kerry daughter is not fighting in Iraq.

The hate and propaganda the left is putting forward here is disgusting. Is that what it means to be a liberal? To pump hate and propaganda? This does none of us any good. Not those that wallow in and are radicalized by the hate and propaganda and not the rest of the nation.

Hillary Clinton did not vote for war. She voted for giving the President the right to use force if there was no alternative. Bush abused that authorization. But your right, Chelsea should go. Less stupid unecessary wars would be started if sending your own child should be the litmus test for whether a war is justified. Because in the end someone kid will die.

Why isn't Chelsea Clinton in Iraq?

Oh that's right, she turned her History degree into a 6 figure salary on Wallstreet. Another corporate payoff to the Clintons. Like they need to pay 6 figures to hire the expertise of a fresh history major in a financial firm. LAUGH.

No wonder the Clinton's have forbidden the press to report on Chelsea. No need to focus on how Clinton's line their pockets from corporate payoffs and influence peddling. And maybe they are embarrassed that she didn't go off and fight for the war her momma voted FOR?

You see, these kind of comments are nonsense, poison, and meaningless. Most girls are just not warriors. It means nothing that Chelsea Clinton is taking corporate payoffs instead of fighting in the war her momma voted for. And it means nothing that the Bush daughter is peddling books as "first daughter" instead of fighting in the war her daddy voted for.

You folks sit around all day pumping hate and poison. Wallowing in radicalization like some Nazi storm troops are cranked up on hate out to take down any who do not see things your way. It's wrong, it's wrong to wallow in the hate and propaganda. Its bad for you, it's bad for the nation.

"But if people really thought about it, they would know it's not even a practical question."

Absolutely correct. And anyone who is not living in some sort of fairy tale or dream world would never even bother to ask it.
Jenna is not in Iraq for the same reasons her old man was not in Vietnam. They have way too much to live for to take the risk that some 14 year old kid with a banged up AK-47 might get lucky and end their beautiful existence with a five cent piece of lead. There are plenty of nobody Americans from places like West Virginia or East L.A. who can fill that role. Really now...lets's be perfectly frank. Who's got more to live for than a Bush?

Does anyone here remember the Japanese story of 47 samurai? Because one man feared death so much, 47 died to straighten out the mess caused by his cowardice. If Jenna dared to die, it would be Iphegenia all over again, and when Bush came home, his wife would......... What?

Sorry, I forgot, re: the daughter of Jephtah. Her old man of the nameless young woman said that if he would win his war, he would sacrifice the first person who came to greet him when he came home. Guess who came running out the door to welcome daddy first?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:53 AM on 10/13/2007

what are you talking about?? you have no idea what the story of the 47 ronin was, clearly. the 47 samurai were avenging the killing of their master who drew his sword after he was insulted. the drawing of his sword meant he had to die. the 47 then sort out the man who insulted their master and killed him. by doing this they also had to die. it is a story of unfailing servitude and selflessness. it has nothing to do with cowardice at all.

I swear all republicans read from the same manuscript, because the fact that she didn't voluntarily enlist in the military doesn't mean she can't do so now and fight for this country. In essence, all she and others who support this war from a "great" distance are saying is that their lives mean more than those who are fighting this ridiculous war. And how can they equate staying here in this country talking about the war to those who are living the life on the front line? I don't support this war and I didn't from the start, and in all honesty, I don't have the guts to go over there and fight. Having said that, I really appreciate those who are, and those who have given their life and limb for the protection of this country. I wouldn't dare compare myself to those who have given so much for this country in the name of oil!

On Friday while the heros on capital Hill were busy pointing the finger at the Turks they could have killed two eagles with one stone by taking credit for the Iraqui autogenocide sponsored by the U.S. military and our chosen friends and the complimentary garden variety genocide delegated to mercenary goons. The nice thing about genocide is that it affirms that we are all more alike the different. God deliver us from ourselves.
Vote for Al Gore. Whether he wants to run or not is irrelevant in these troubled times. Flush all that toxic corporate money down the hopper. Give Senators Clinton and Craige first options to lick the bowl.
The last great and reluctant American president was Harry Truman. And look what he did for global warming. Hey, if it wasn't for Harry we wouldn't have known what Condi was talking about. Somebody had to do it.
Of course President Gore's first environmental task would be to cleanup all the "deep do-do" left behind in the Whitehouse by the "Great Imposter" and his "Grand Inquisitor". Hell, we don't even need to waste paper and electicity on the next election. Just make President Gore take his rightful turn.

If that is so Jenna, then why aren't you doing that.
Having a good time in Argentina is not working with UNICEF.
Listen. You have to comprehend that your father made a choice to invade Iraq. Over 4000 American soldiers have died. Over 600,000 Iraqis have died.
All we read about you and your sister is that the both of you are having a party somewhere. Not that you are working for UNICEF.
Now, it comes out that you wrote a book. Boy, you must have had alot of time on your hands between the parties.
What your father has done will not go away for a long time. I hope you plan on putting years into UNICEF.

Here is a "Practicle Question" Jenna. Why should anyone read anything you write? You have ZERO experience at anything, you would not be known if not for Chimp, and UNICEF it's self said you were a "visitor".

Easy question. Because if we are going to lose a first daughter to terrorism, we want it to be one of the ugly ones first. Amy or Chelsea will do just fine.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Chelsea has more brains and class than the entire Bush family. They are classless, brainless people. Hillbillies would not want them in their area.

After numerous rounds of "We don't even know if Osama is still alive," Osama himself decided to send George W. Bush a letter in his own handwriting to let the President know he was still in the game.

Bush opened the letter and it appeared to contain a single line of coded message:

370HSSV-0773H

Bush was baffled, so he e-mailed it to Condi Rice. Condi and her aides had no clue either, so they sent it to the FBI.

No one could solve it at the FBI so it went to the CIA, then to the NSA.

With no clue as to its meaning they eventually asked Britain's MI-6 for help. Within a minute MI-6 called the White House with this reply, "Tell the President he's holding the message upside down."

George Bush has a heart attack and dies. He goes to hell where the devil is waiting for him.

I don't know what to do here," says the devil. "You're on my list but I have no room for you, but you definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got 3 people here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves."

George thought that sounded pretty good, so he agreed. The devil opened the first room. In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water; he kept diving in and surfacing empty handed over and over and over. Such was his fate in hell. "HELL No!" George said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and don't think I could do that all day long."

The devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. "No! I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!" commented George.

The devil opened a third door. In it, George saw Bill Clinton lying on the floor with his arms staked over his head and his legs staked in spread eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. George Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this."

The devil smiled and said....

"MONICA, you're free to go!"

Jenna dear your not listening to your daddy. Real American patriotic heros have to lay down their lives, because this country is threatened by terrorists.

Or maybe Jenna dear your daddy's a sociopathic liar and you know that this country is not threatened, and that is why it is "not practical" for you to risk your life for nothing.

Jenna's answer was fair to a bad question. A better question would have been why isn't she serving her country by being in the military. One could preface it by talking about the message it would serve to encourage others. Focusing on service in Iraq made it a lousy question.

Another question would be to get her response to why don't we hear her father making public service announcements encouraging young people to join the military.

I sometimes wonder if a bigger reason behind the decline of the mainstream media is none of them have real life experience. They all get out of college and immediately go to work as journalists.

They seem to lack the capability to analyze. Reminds me in some ways of today's Democratic Party (and I'm a Dem).

And it's not fair to blame the Bush twins for the sins of their father. It's his war, not theirs, his presidency, not theirs.

It was not fair for Bush , Cheney and the republicans to have sent our soldiers into the illegal war with Iraq for wealth and oil which has killed around 4,000 soldiers, wounded over 30,000 soldiers and created 30% of our soldiers to have mental illness; But they did.
So the question is a very good question for any person of the Bush, Cheney, Pelosi, Rove, Jeb Bush, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, John Ashcroft, Trent Lott, John Boehner, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Dennis Hastert, Tom Delay, Bill Frist, Rick Santorum, George Felix Allen or people pushing the war on others , while they live off the fat of this country.
The war in Iraq has nothing to do with the terrorist attack of 911 or WMD , no matter haw many times the right wing republicans keep lying about it.
But has everything to do with wealth & power for oil companies, contractors , Bush , Cheney and their family and friends...
