With some leading social conservatives threatening to boycott the Republican Party if Rudolph W. Giuliani wins the presidential nomination, the former New York City mayor sought Saturday to assure activists in this crucial GOP voting bloc that they have "absolutely nothing to fear from me..."

..."It's not something that can be paved over easily," Perkins said, adding that he had not changed his mind about looking elsewhere for a candidate should Giuliani win the GOP nomination. "My position remains the same, as I think it does for a number of pro-life conservatives -- that we draw a line that we will not cross in supporting a pro-abortion-rights candidate."

Please, please. Let the 25 percent go and form a new party. Take the authoritians from the Reps and Dems and get on with it. Let the Reps go back to their Goldwater basics. The RR can go authoritian and get what votes they can, Dems can go socialist and get what votes they can and the Reps can go for individual freedom and see how they do. Please RR, go your own way.

Hey Fundies I'll trade you 1M no votes for Hillary for a candidate of your choice for 1M no votes for Rudy for a candidate of my choice. It'll be a wash but we will both feel better.

So when the republicans loose - the right will take credit for being so powerful!?

Not a bad play for the theocrats. They will look like king makers in a year when the brand sucks and is headed to defeat regardless - or as we say in the south Irrregaurdless.

Kinda like the 1994 NRA myth. As if the NRA lifers were solidly democrat - repeat it often enough and they mouth breathers will believe anything.

The eveangelics have to vote Republic. They have no choice if they wish to have any amount of political power. The Demo's will ignore them.

So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen....

Let me be one of the many Republican women who have patiently waited for the mass exodus of hate spewing faux X-Tians.

Nothing about them is kind or loving and I look forward to a Republican party that once again embraces the separation of church and state.

Again, I have to apologize for W.

It was a lapse.

We'll do better next time.

I was a Scranton Republican. My cohort was booted out of the party. Why in the world should we trust you? You nominated this clown twice. You supported him. You elexted people who supported his policies or at least who would buckle under. Nope. Sorry. No trust for you today. Come back in twenty years or so. Or, better yet, twenty-seven years...

I wonder how many votes Jesus would get if he came down and ran for president? I don't think he'd get very many, and if he counted on the right wing Christian conservatives, he'd definitely be out of luck, and probably would be better off hiding.

It's very unlikely the Religious Right or the Evangelicals will jump ship and joint the Democrats, they're going to make do with what they have in the Republican party. They will play the hand they were dealt, even if they have to twist it.

What Republican candidate do you believe suites the Religious Right needs?

The worst thing in the world would be for these snake-handling christian kooks to join the democratic party.

These the christian phonies should just go away and stay away. Hopefully this society will soon become enlightened enough to kick these superstitious fools to the curb, along with their goblins and their gog and magog stupidities.

Anyone who reads HuffPo can see that Hillary faces the same dilemma from the left. It could be a four or five party race.

Hmm, maybe they can form the Religious Zealot party?
They can wallow somewhere down the bottom of the ballot.
