Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) is under heavy fire over the decision to invite gospel singer Donnie McClurkin on a South Carolina campaign tour this weekend.

McClurkin has vowed to battle "the curse of homosexuality," and insists that sexuality can be changed by religious intervention. "If this is a war, we are willing to fight. Not a war of violence, but a war of purpose," he told the Washington Post in 2004 before performing at the Republican National Convention.

Below, watch McClurkin's performance at the convention, which took place on the final night just hours before President Bush's speech.

At one point, McClurkin even includes Bush in the lyrics of his song, singing in the final verse:

After you've done all you can, you just stand.
Don't give up, don't give in, you just stand.
Oh, Mr. President, tonight, you just stand.

You know what, I don't really see anything wrong about this, but it could be possible that Obama is trying a "gay" version of the "southern strategy" to peel away the black vote from Hillary. The main thing that keeps me from thinking this is that if they are bigoted enough to change their vote on the gay issue, that demographic is probably already voting for Obama based solely on his skin color.

He should take the libertarian position. Who cares what happens between two consenting adults? It isn't the governments business. It turns out Obama isn't the only presidential hopeful who has crossed paths with McClurkin. He performed for Democratic presidential front runner Hillary Clinton's husband Bill Clinton in 1992 during the Democratic National Convention.

What Zhonni knows is that Donnie MClurkin did not start publically marketing his sexuality until he put out a book in 2002, after he had helped put his fellow homophobe GW Bush into office.

McClurkin was born and raised in Amityville, New York. When he was eight years old, tragedy struck: his two-year-old brother was hit and killed by a speeding driver. The night of the funeral, McClurkin was raped by his uncle.

The family became filled with domestic violence and drug abuse, and at the age of eight, and again at thirteen, McClurkin was sexually abused, the second time by his cousin, his uncle's son.
