The folks at Maxim magazine have revealed their list of the world's unsexiest women, which includes ladies of the big screen, small screen and the concert stage.

Gosh...I just have to say this entire comment area is just so horrible. How many of us reading these comments could stand up to the scrutiny these women endure? To those of you who posted that SJP looks like a horse, a foot, etc., I have to ask you to look in the mirror. Do you look hot and sexy? Probably not--sitting at your computer, in your ripped-up sweats, in need of a trainer and a good stylist, eating your kids' Halloween candy a day early. Do you really think you could stand having your picture on the internet for every dog and his brother to chime in on and ridicule? Are you really that spectacular? Again, I really doubt it. The level of mean-spritedness on this board is incredible! People hide behind their computer screens, but I'd wager there are some pretty hideous folks out there just ragging these women left and right. Now, imagine how you'd feel logging on for all the world to see you and tell you that you look like a horse. I'm really disgusted by the tone of some of these posts.

Have you ever looked at Maxim magazine? Really, who gives a damn what their opinion is anyway? It's crap wrapped in a glossy cover.
Can we stop all this mindless sanctimony? nearly everyone seems to be railing against some sort of objectification of women that Maxim has done by simply ranking female celebrities, who - by any accounts - have a degree of superficiality to them that warrants such a list. Have we gone soo completely politically correct that we cannot mock male and/or female celebrities that make a living off of their appearance and so-called acting skills?
Maxim is not journalism. Maxim is not even news. I would dare say that it is not even satire. What it is is popular culture, plain and simple. And so what if Maxim judges that Sarah Jessica Parker is unattractive. This woman gets more kudos and praise for her acting and beauty, she warrants a nice knock back down to earth.
wow, lots of threatened males out there. these women are all some combination of rich, powerful, successful, smart, strong and/or independent. in other words, not subservient to men. and that makes maxim attack them for being "unsexy," the last tool in the limp-dick's toolbox before actually assaulting the women.

here's a little hint. having a copy of "maxim" within 10 feet of any man is the best indicator that he will never get laid by anyone worth sleeping with. ever. we call it a "loser detector."

Don't use the feminism card when actresses are on TV because they are better looking than 97 percent of the general population. A person isn't "threatened" if he or she can appreciate physical beauty in women.

Her first line of defense is a verbal sexual attack on any male who dares disagree with her world view. This person is filled with hate and deserves sympathy, followed immediately by regular therapy.
Why is this article objectionable?
NOT because it is mean to specific celebrities; that's the game they signed on for (though it's disheartening to see so many male Huffpost commenters jump into game with such glee--"ooh, let's trash more women by pretending we could refuse to fuck them").
NOT because people will mistake Maxim for serious journalism; they won't, and Huffpost is not presenting it as such. I assume the editors are giving a notable example of what circulates in mass culture.
It IS objectionable because a list of "unsexy" women is a way to put NON-celebrity women on notice that they are objects of male (straight or gay) contempt. It's a handy index to the reasons 95% of women should be ashamed and embarrassed if they dared to present themselves to the world as acceptable sexually. The reaction on Huffpost proves that this is the real effect of such a list, even if it's not its primary intention (which is to profit off the game). Why else would a commenter jump in to announce to all that Maggie Gyllenhall (an indie movie actress who doesn't tend to sell herself as a Maxim hottie anyway) is just like an "impacted pile"?
Bottom line: women are shit.
The article is an occasion for circulating this sentiment and putting women on notice (again, it doesn't matter how attractive men who write or read it are, whether they are gay, whether they would have sex with Sarah Jessica Parker if she showed up on their doorstep, etc.)

Oh really? Contempt? Why would I show contempt for Sarah Jessica Parker? I don't know her and neither do you...or anyone else on that list. Or on a possible list of unsexy males. Maxim (to which I subscribe - full disclosure) is a magazine about popular culture - good and bad. As a married man, if SJP showed up on my doorstep, I would tell her to go back home to Ferris. I measure beauty, like every man or woman (LGBTQ or otherwsie), on my own scale. have we gone so politically correct that we can't make a harmless list of one magazine's own scale of who isn't sexy?
SJP is unsexy for one reason. She is ridiculously skinny.

it's not that the list is unsexy women period, it's a list of women whom are genuinely unsexy but try to pass off their sexuality as something genuine. none of those women on that list have ever been sexy either personality-wise or physically. to some yes, but to a whole lot, no. not even close.
Its an odd selection of women. SJP isn't classicly a beauty but she is far from the unsexiest. Madonna, google her image from this years Vanity Party afterparty. She is gorgeous. Of course they pick the most unflattering pic of all of them. This list seems cruel and it is totally unnecessary. I guess some people get their kicks from denigrating others.
Cruelty as sport. And the masses gather in the coliseum to cheer. Human nature? I don't know. I remember in 9th grade some of the kids tried to get the most ackward, "different" boy and girl voted in as king and queen of something as a joke. Different was the enemy and had to be humiliated and destroyed. The jocks were laughing. I'll never forget the look on her face as she stoically looked forward, trying not to cry as the votes were tallied.
I hope every person on this juvenile, hateful list has someone in their life who wraps them in an hour-long embrace and reminds them of how beautiful they are.
I was thinking the same thing. Its one thing to go after Britney Spears, who lives for the attention and exposes herself in public. But Sara Jessica Parker? A nice, private person, who does not exhibition herself or contribute to the hollywood backstabbing mill. She doesn't deserve this, and it is cruel.
As far as SJP is concerned, I think it has more to do with the character she plays on the TV show. A character that so many women seem to admire and vicariously live by, but to the male eye is just an utterly unattractive, sniveling, annoying, manipulative person. It is probably a way to bring that character down to earth! (BTW, I too think the real SJP and her husband Matthew are lovely wonderful people!)

This is just a list compiled by a bunch of bitchy gay guys. It's like Mr. Blackwells list of the worst dressed women. It's nonsense to say that Britney Spears isn't sexy. She is not fat and even at her worst is gorgeous. She just happens to be nuts thats all. Although they are right about Sarah Jessica Parker Madonna and Sandra Oh.
Sandra Oh was extremely sexy in Sideways. And I will never be half as sexy, with perfect boobs and body, as Madonna was in her Sex book. As for Sarah Jessica Parker, sexy is in the eyes of the beholder, she is extremely stylish, sophisticated woman, who I am sorry to see drug into this juvenile list.
