Blackwater Review Immunity

AP:

Democrats criticized the Bush administration Tuesday for giving immunity to Blackwater USA bodyguards, calling the move a failure to hold the security contractors responsible for the shooting deaths of 17 Iraqi civilians.

The State Department, whose investigators initially promised to shield the bodyguards' statements in the criminal inquiry of the Sept. 16 shootings, maintained that any lawbreakers "must be held to account" as a result of the inquiry that has since been taken over by the Justice Department and FBI.

And now...The Alberto Gonzalez visit to Iraq makes complete sense...unfortunately.

The neo-con-artists have been like a Bull in a china shop, with THE REST OF THE WORLD wailing and lamenting and protesting the CARNAGE and DEVASTAION left in it's wake...wasting time.

AMERICANS have failed to take a stand. Their Representative Government has been turned AGAINST THEM by this corrupt cabal.

Only by taking to the streets and overthrowing the current TREASONOUS administration can the American People "Get out in front of the BEAST and STOP IT"

Will it happen?

No. Germany made greater attempts to prevent the rise of HITLER, and he still achieved SUPREME CONTROL of the HOMELAND.

The false flag attack blamed on POLAND was a JOKE...but Hitler's BLITZKRIEG could not begin WITHOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BAGHDAD – It had to be done quickly. Rogue Shiite militiamen were holding hostage a group of Sunni and Shiite tribal sheiks who had joined a revolt against al-Qaeda in Iraq. For the Iraqi government and its U.S. backers, the seven men represented a rare symbol of national unity.

A daring rescue operation secured their freedom.

A meeting yesterday between most of the former captives and military officials, including the Iraqi commander of the rescue operation, offered the first detailed picture of the tense and fast-moving events: the kidnapping, the slaying of one captive and the rescue mission Monday.

The sheiks, recounting their 30-hour ordeal, said they were tortured and humiliated. At least three sheiks were visibly bruised. One man's left eye was red and swollen. The two others had bruises on their backs, arms and legs.

Haroon al-Mohammedawi, the leader of the group from Khalis, where al-Qaeda in Iraq has a heavy presence, said: “We already forgot the pain and the wounds from our ordeal. We pledge to you, the people and leadership of Iraq, that we will stay the course.”

The kidnapping came shortly after the sheiks attended a meeting Sunday with government officials in Baghdad about battling al-Qaeda in Iraq and fostering peace between Shiites and Sunnis.

Bush is becoming more desperate to have it his way. Even if it takes years we should impeach, and try him and Cheney for Crimes against Humanity.

Please get the President the help he needs!

It is sad watching Mr. Bush have his inceasing breakdowns publicly. Apparently, the acquiescence of the former (and still?) republican congress wasn't the right move after all - he only got worse and so did our country.

Everyday there is another example/scandal revealed and the Blackwater scam is just another one.

Please help the president!

On Keith Olbermann's Countdown show on MSNBC last night, Keith led with a video clip of Bush, surrounded by a few of his Republican rubber-stampers in Congress. Bush, in characteristic fashion, spewed a bunch of lies in an attempt to further mislead the public about what is actually going on with the Democrats attempts to provide some actual "oversight" and checks and balances on his administration.

It appears that poor, little Bushie is tired of all of the investigations and the wrangling over war funding and the S-CHIP program. He wants everything to go his way or he'll stamper and stomp and cry from his bully pulpit. But what the fool doesn't realize is that people are no longer falling for his lies. Fully 75% of America has grown disgusted by his incompetence and misleadership and will be glad when his term finally -- finally -- finishes in January of '09.

Yes all the investigations, and what have they come up with nada. You all keep saying impeach, impeach, impeach. Well do it then. Oh yeah you have to have something to impeach him for. After all this time if they reaaly had something to impeach him for it would have happened. Do you think that maybe the fact that Congress keeps going along with him is maybe because he is right.

No, I think the reason the Dems have allowed Bush to remain the most powerful President in history is because the Dems are Right (and their positions are wrong). The Dems are Bushocrats, as pro-Bush as the Repubs. That's the only way to explain 92-3 Senate votes on the first $150 billion of Bush's Iraq budget without and restrictions, the only way to explain their voting in July for Trample on the Constitution 2 (Protect America act), the only way to explain that more than half of them voted for the "attack Iran" Kyl-Lieberman resolution, the only way to explain the confirmation of Southwick and the probable confirmation of Mukasey (although there will be enough Democratic votes against him for the media to say the Dems opposed it), the only way to explain why, in the end, they'll vote for Trample the Constitution 3 (FISA Reform with retroactive immunity for the violations of criminal and civil law of the telecoms), the only way to explain why the 3 Dem. frontrunners will not commit to getting out of Iraq by 2013 (2013??????????) and the only way to explain the probably overwhelming vote on Bush's supplemental Iraq appropriation (again without restrictions).

The Dems are not spineless or cowards. They are Bushocrats who support Bush's policies but talk against them in order to curry votes among progressives.

Since the Democratic 110th DO NOTHING Congress WON'T deliver on it's 'mandate', they twiddle their thumbs with 'investigations'. The Iraq War is going well, NOW, so they have nothing to object to except Iraqi government corruption and Coalition mismanagement. Let them have at it. No legislation is a GOOD thing.

Of the 100 bills passed by Congress, 46 have been to rename roads and Post Offices.

SCHIP is going down AGAIN. DoD/VA/PORK BARREL funding is going down to VETO. As Pres Bush said yesterday, this Congress is the least effective in the past 20 years!

The 110th will have to really go some to top the 109th- the worst of all time according to most history experts, BOB.
Get real. The GOP have blocked any attempt by the Dems.

Can't wait until 11/08. The day of reckoning for your party is coming.

I thought the day of reckoning was 06 when the Dims took control of Congress.

Given the competitiveness of the Parties, the Dems are striving mightily to make the 110th Congress even worse than the 109th Congress. When you add the betrayal factor to their record of non-accomplishments and their massive voting as Bushocrats for war budgets without limits on Bush, for Trampling the Constitution, for the attack Iran Kyl-Lieberman resolution and on and on, a case can be made that they are even worse than the 109th. Maybe we can get the 110th to pass a resolution to change the name of Persian rugs to Freedom rugs.

George W. Bush, "the Moron Terror" is only half right (which makes him 50% more correct than usual).

The Republicans believe "no legislation is a good thing." They block good, worthwhile legislation proposed by the Democrats that would make us a greater nation (at least it would slow the Neo-Con gutting and blood-letting of our country). Bush only vetoes legislation that would help people, not kill them.

George Bush and his Republican puppet masters hope their propaganda campaign to paint the Democratic congress as ineffective (due to the Republicans own roadblocking inaction), will work on some of their more base and uninquisitive supporters. In some instances (see Ammobob's post above) they will be correct.

The 11th are getting as much done as possible while Congress is stil infested with GOPstructionists. The majority of the countryblames teh GOPstructionists for the stalemate in Congress and know that teh only way to get Congress moving again is to get rid of even more GOPstructionists. So long as Lieberman and teh 49 GOPstructionisrts continue to put party before country and rubber stamp Bush, nothing can be done. The solution? Return no GOPstructionist in 2008.

isn't it great that when we achieve "victory" in iraq and instill democracy by force in the whole middle east and make everyone wear suits with flag lapel pins that everyone "over there" will be so happy and thankful for what we... errr... the lord has given them that they'll like immediately forgive us on that glorious day for all the death and destruction we have caused for made up reasons?

won't that be great?

it's like... having your presidency and eating it too.

Condy should draft all involved in granting the so-called "immunity" to fill the vacancies in Iraq, investigate them while they are in Iraq, and fire them if the charges are true. That would show she wants to provide "oversight" and hold those responsible "accountable". But she won't.

Also, even if immunity was granted for those admitting to committing murder, they still can be prosecuted based upon evidence not directly or indirectly derived from their statements. The testimony of the Iraqi witnesses, and others who were granted immunity for themselves, can be used against them.

The Surge is working--lookie there--17 civilians gunned down accidentally by Blackwater. Like car bomb deaths and people shot in the fron of the head their deaths do not "count" under the new "make the Surge look good at all costs" death counting procedure. American ingenuity. We may be getting our ass kicked by civilians insurgents with homemade weapons, in a country we invaded for lies--but we still are the greatest country in the world. God bwess us, and you to doug. Bwess you and your armchair, and your little keyboard, and you bowl of salty snacks. You are a warrior for Fweedum
