Kucinich: "I Did" See A UFO...

First Posted: 03/28/08 03:45 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:15 PM ET

At last night's debate between Democratic presidential candidates in Philadelphia, NBC's Tim Russert asked a flustered Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich whether he'd seen a UFO.

Here's a transcript and YouTube video of their exchange:

RUSSERT: Shirley MacLaine writes in her new book that you sighted a UFO over her home in Washington state, that you found the encounter extremely moving, that it was a triangular craft, silent and hovering, that you felt a connection to your heart and heard directions in your mind. Now, did you see a UFO?

KUCINICH: Uh, I did. And the rest of the account. It was an unidentified flying object, OK? It's like, it's unidentified. I saw something. Now, to answer your question. I'm moving my, and I'm also going to move my campaign office to Roswell, New Mexico, and another one in Exeter, New Hampshire, OK? And also, you have to keep in mind that Jimmy Carter saw a UFO, and also that more people in this country have seen UFOs than I think approve of George Bush's presidency.

773 comments indicates interest in Kucinich and UFOs is very high.

And yes I have also seen a UFO.

And I have a science Ph.D.

And no, I do not believe in God or angels or fairies.

According to Bill OReilly, Kucinich, who was on his show, is a stand up guy. Kucinich doesn't have to check which way the wind blows to reply to a question. I believe he saw something. Dennis you are a true lib - check that, liberal.

Kucinich didn't seem flustered to me, at least not until Russert started clamping down on his time. That question and Russert's response to Kucinich and this reporter's quick characterization of Kucinich as "flustered" are just the sort of thing that keeps me from watching the debates and paying any attention whatsoever to television coverage and coverage of television coverage of the presidential campaign or anything else of importance.

Groupthink and bullying is the order of the day when it comes to MSM, a disease not unlike Alzeimer's in that interferes with the public's ability to think clearly and behave responsibly.

Unlike Alzeimer's and unfortunately for us all, MSM is contagious and spreading exponentially.

Well, finally, an HONEST politician!
While in most cases that would be an oxymoron, in the case of Dennis Kucinich, it's refreshing!
His integrity makes the other candidates look extremely tawdry and tarnished, except of course Edwards who has a bit of good integrity himself.
If There was an Edwards/Kucinich ticket for the prez/vice prez...it would be a WINNER in my book!

At least Dennis was allowed to participate, even if it was only to ridicule him and paint him as unfit. Gravel wasn't even allowed on stage. The debates are unfair and shallow. Duh.

Dear Huffington Post:

Thank you for providing an important forum for information and discussion about the political process.

HuffPo would be more useful if it informed and allowed dialogue about ALL the presidential candidates - not just the so-called front runners which get covered ad nauseum by the MSM. Certain candidates have been practically blacklisted by HuffPo, while your pages are dominated by more news than we could ever want about Obama, Clinton, Romney and Giuliani.

Your coverage of Kucinich, Richardson, Paul, Gravel and Edwards has been nonexistant. Their campaigns are vehicles for disseminating important ideas.

I feel you are doing your readers, the candidates, and our country a disservice by limiting your coverage to the moneyed candidates. For that kind of coverage we can rely on the MSM. HuffPo has a chance to make a difference by providing a broader forum for information and discussion, but if the coverage is the same as the MSM provides, HuffPo is already irrelevant.

Thank you for letting me express my opinion.

To clarify:

In Shirley Maclaine's book this is described not as a UFO but as a "close sighting." Kucinich acknowledged it was a UFO because it was, well, unidentified!!!

Russert asked this question to give the MSM a chance to distort, twist, and turn this into a lie so as to smear Kucinich. He failed, but his intent is despicable. Fox News will have their fun and Kucinich will survive stronger than ever because of the attention turned on him which will give him a chance to tell his message, again and again. It's his message that ignites passion in new supporters, every time he speaks.

Hillary Clinton Refused to Answer Question on Immigration With regard to her own State Of N.Y. then has Mental Melt Down After Debate Complaining To Bill They Asked me things On Topics that were not Pre approved And I looked Stupid And Incompetent .

This was an inappropriate question from the bastards at MSNBC designed to embarrass and to insinuate that Kucinich is nutty. They are in the process of doing to him what they did to Senator Gravel. They want to shut up and discredit the true anti-war pro-peace candidates. Just watch, MSNBC will come up with some new arbitrary guidelines to keep him out of the next debate. The MSM has already decided for us who they want...so why not kick out all the candidates and just let Hillary and Rudy go at it now?

.

... And he did see that the Iraq invasion was the wrong thing for America to do.

... And he has continued to see that he not fund the continued occupation of Iraq BY America.

... And he has seen the necessity to press for the impeachment of the current gang.

... And he has seen what it is like to live in the streets of this failing country.

It's funny the way the Kucinichians are spinning this."Hey man, he said he saw a UFO, he didn't say he saw little green men." If he had merely seen a UFO, yeah, nobody would think twice about it. But, according to his fruitcake pal Shirley "I was Napoleon Bonaparte in a previous life" Maclaine he felt a connection and heard directions in his mind. What,is he schizophrenic? Imagine if he did get elected president. And the UFO comes back. And gives him new directions. Den-nis. Destroy. Destroy the earth. Destroy the earth so that we may colonize it. Kaboom. Is this what you want, people?

The amazing thing isn't that kucinich saw a UFO, it's how the funny little Romulan, managed to score such a hottie for a wife.
