AP:

Bob Barker famously closed each episode of "The Price Is Right" with a pitch to spay and neuter pets. His successor is taking a stand on a more controversial subject: marijuana. Drew Carey won't tout toking up on "Price," but he defends the use of medical marijuana in a video posted online Thursday on Reason.tv.

"Smell that smell," the 49-year-old comedian says as he walks into a Los Angeles medical marijuana dispensary. "That's the smell of freedom."

I think marijuana should be legal, it's ridiculous to waste tax money on people smoking pot.
But having said that, fattypigfatty should avoid anything that gives him the munchies. I hate this right wing blowhard. he's not funny

Hello, the war is over and cannabis won. California will not retreat on this issue and neither will the other 10-12 states that have some level of usage for medical purposes. As the number of those who benefit from this - dare I say it? - miracle substance constantly increase so do the odds of full legalization. So, any of those of you who are prohibitionists feel free to express your best arguments, but there is no one who can show any logical reason why cannabis should not be completely legal.

MARIJUANA: Only way Drew Carey gets laid!

Of course he supports it.

Everyone who ever smoked pot, but now objects to legalization, turn yourself in at your local prosecutor's office. Yeah, I didn't think so.

Big deal. I'm a spliff fan but I wish people like Carey would just admit they like to get high and stop jerking off about "medical marijuana."

It reminds me of when Tommy Chong was a guest star on Nash Bridges and he did a scene with Cheech Marin. Chong was lined up at a medical marijuana clinic and said that his doctor prescribed the weed for his depression. "Because," Chong said, "if I don't get high, I get depressed."

Again, do we really need liberals to be dumber?

Can they get dumber?

Yup. Even when it's on the ground they can still set the bar lower.

Keeping marijuana from people who benefit from it's medicinal properties is cruel and unusual punishment.

When we had a Constitution, it forbade cruel and unusual punishment.

BIGPHARMA wants your sick loved one in its' pocket. You will obey.

Surprised Drew said something so liberal. I thought he was a conservative Republican who adores George W. Bush.

Don't forget Bill Maher. When he did "Politicall Correct" on ABC, what was his favorite thing? Sit in the back of an ABC limo with his babe, a bong and some Jack Daniels. Now if they could only do these on the air :).

who woulda thought? DREW CAREY?? Right on! When you Baptist idiots are puking your guts all over the sheets from your chemo milkshake and I.V., remember how strong you were to resist getting HIGH...

The 'medical' part of this issue is a dodge, as we know. All issues raised by libs are cloaked as something else. "Helping others" is the usual chow, in this case a transparent ruse as other medicines work equally as well.

I've never known a pot smoker who was a better person for it or more intelligent because of it. Thankfully, they ones I cared about all went through their "phase" and left it in the past. Grew up, dontcha' know.

Besides, we don't need liberals to be dumber.

Let's not be too hasty in dismissing the side effects of weed. I've been toking for 42 years now and I think I'm developing a cough.

Bravo, Drew. Irrespective of the opinions expressed in the article, there is some career risk in taking this position. Most TPIR viewers are relatively advanced in age and may not be as liberal in their view of marijuana as the gen pop. TV networks are extremely risk averse in general and probably aren't too happy with his actions here.

Bravo also to the Reason Foundation for using the right man for the job. Carey isn't the most glamourous of celebs, but he has an every-man quality that resonates with the type of person that needs to be convinced that medical marijuana will not result in a REEFER MADNESS scenario of murderous lust. Kudos deserved all around.

I think they should have used THIS message to close every single TPIR show... because, really... how many viewers are stoned by the time the show is over anyway?

TPIR is one of the BEST reasons for a college student to "wake-n-bake".

Guessing the prices and imagining yourself owning the prizes is a great stoner activity among friends.
