President Bush on Monday urged Gen. Pervez Musharraf, the Pakistani president, to hold elections and give up his army post "as soon as possible," but gave no indication that the general's imposition of emergency rule would bring about any significant change in American policy.

The comments were the first by Mr. Bush since General Musharraf's move over the weekend ignited a constitutional crisis. Mr. Bush would not comment about what the United States might do if the Pakistani leader ignored the pleas, saying only, "I hope he takes my advice."

At this point I can't see that Musharraf can do much of anything. Most of the country seems to hate him. Maybe even Mrs.Musharraf dosn't like him anymore.

I'm absolutely shocked. I thought for sure Bush would be right on this one. He's pushed all his other allies (China, Saudi Arabia) to practice democracy.

He simply asked Dubya if he knew anyone who might interested in purchasing some nukes and Dubya said that he was only joking about the sanctions and then gave him the "heckuva job" speech and that was that.

Then he called the chinese on his new "hotline" and asked about a new loan and asked if Sec Gates needed new knee pads after all the groveling he did there this week.

one of the primary effects of a chaos are the anarchists who start sharing powers around a great court.

the former king died issueless at the reunification ceremony although german scienists had warned around 1972 when pakistani hockey team disregarded the national flag that was waving at silver ..

one thing that i am reassuring the world today is the 'capacity of work the office or job' is important for publics to realize in the person whom they grant the public office .

for all have seen that protégés and followers become tuned into press and publicity. how many times we see presidents reply to irrelevant remarks from the press...that person himself becomes absolutely irrelevant to the real issues around him that his secretaries mostly address and all the most their language differs...

any public office holders scared of leaving is job only has more opportunity to become more tyrannical towards the public...

organizations like us CIA are used to running all the affairs around today"s presidencies and one presidency does not like to care for another and because the president is a lord and not a minister, this only serves the bureaucracy in corrupting im towards new issues and control the older ones themselves, mostly they just make out of these.no matter how acute the matter keeps on getting..

What if Bush and his henchpeople allowed for Pakistan to destroy their democracy and behave as out and out fascists, thugs as showman, as a warning to the liberal Dems here in the US who might vote against his nascent fascist takeover?

WHY IS THE WORLD MORE CONCERNED with Musharraf's coup than with Hugo Chavez's emerging dicatatorship? Because enemies of the United States, like Chavez, get a pass. There's no question Chavez is far ahead of Musharraf in consolidating power but not a word. What's happening in Venezuela is just as bad as what is going on in Pakistan. But, Chavez is an enemy of the Bush administration and Musharraf is supportive of the Bush administration. Chavez gets a free pass.

So years after setting out to take down terrorists and overthrow a dictator with weapons of mass destruction, we're helping to create more terrorists and are supporting a dictator with weapons of mass destruction.

You're doing a heckuva job, Georgie!

Take a good look at Pakistan America because that is what you are going to see in our streets by the end of this year. There will be no election of '08, Bush will be declaring martial law, and those 855,000 so called "terrorists" currently on the watch list will be rounded up and will never be heard from again. Don't ever think for one minute that " it can't happen here." Many freedom loving Germans were saying that all through the 1930s.

Bush's logic, invade the wrong country, support one dictator and take out another, give them billions so they can spend it on weapons to kill our military. It's amazing that one little pimple on the Butt of society can lead to the destruction of the United States, it's Constitution and rule of law.
Barbara must be so proud.

Whether thru incompetence or design, BushCo policies will soon have created a anti-west, militant islamic crescent from North Africa, across the Caucasus & Middle East, down through the Sub-Continent and around to Indonesia. AND they will have nukes! If THAT sort of future doesn't beat the Cold War and make the defense industries wet their undies....nothing will!

Firaxis (See profile | I'm a fan of Firaxis)
Here's a typical democrat phony soldier.

ATLANTIC CITY - Mayor Bob Levy has knowingly misrepresented his military record to family, friends, reporters and the public for decades.

As an Atlantic City lifeguard and as a candidate for mayor last year, Levy claimed he had served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army's elite Special Forces, more familiarly known as the Green Berets. In campaign literature distributed last year, he claimed he had won medals as a Green Beret.

None of that was true.
-----------------------------------------------

Thought I'd give an example of FireInMaAss' disengenuous bullshit.

Bob Levy DID embellish his record by claiming to be a Green Beret.

What the asshole known as FireInMaAss failed to mention is that Levy DID earn 2 bronze medals in combat in Viet Nam.

In assholio's world that makes him "phoney".

Here's the rest of the c&p he got his information from.
