Rosie

New York Times:

Rosie O'Donnell, who abruptly left "The View" on ABC last spring after drawing attention and ratings for her opinions on everything from the Iraq war to her co-hosts, is in serious discussions to return to television atop a new soapbox: a prime-time show on the cable news channel MSNBC, according to executives on both sides of the negotiations who have been briefed directly.

Under one scenario, Ms. O'Donnell would be given the 9 p.m. slot each weeknight on MSNBC, where she would go head-to-head with two heavyweights of cable talk: "Larry King Live" on CNN and "Hannity & Colmes" on Fox News. Her show would replace "Live with Dan Abrams," a relatively low-rated program that only recently replaced "Scarborough Country," which was also little-watched.

Oh great, give us back our loudmouth, talentless, hideous artist, ugly, slob so that we can really give the right wing a run for their money. what a joke. maybe the turd will donate some real money to causes other than filling her gaping hole.

True representative of the left, according to "scinoir" (Facts are not important, only passion necessary):

"I would enjoy a Rosie political show. She may not always get her facts right (something that truly worries me in producing a fair, respectable show) but her passion is immense"

TIA MSNBC. Rosie is the face of the democrat party and she has been missed these last few weeks.

MSNBC is very smart to consider adding Rosie to their line up. She'll quickly gather a huge audience. Someone at the channel has accurately caught the subtext of why Rosie has
a considerable following. Rosie heralds a trend which your average producer doesn't have the forsight to see or the b*lls to advance. The product : AUTHENTICITY. Say what you may about Rosies volume or style- she is honest and is driven by a guileless compulsion to express her progress on the road to making sense out of the madness. She has regained enough perspective and enough idealism during her hiatus from the more demanding schedule that was her own show and- this is important- enough money- to be free in a way that few who work for the networks are. She has noble impulses. MSNBC rightly has stuck their finger in the wind and realizes before anyone else that many of the viewing audience left TV because it is hollow and stupid. Rosie is not afraid to be political. Opinionated. Strident. Authoritative. Adamant. She is the perfect anecdote to the tired old horses on Fox and CNN during that hour. I admire Rosies ability to be less than perfect. We all are. Rosie isn't afraid of this in herself or anyone else for that matter. I can't think of a better influence on many of us at this particular time. Excellent news indeed. Kant wait.

Hasn't anyone told them that Rosie O'Donnell is really Khalid Sheik Mohammed in drag???

MSNBC is seriously desperate if they think anyone will watch her at night. No, thank you.

I predict a very short running show unless the Libs somehow subsidize it they way the do the constantly failing Air America.
At one time Rosie was a so so comic and the New York accent was more new instead of annoying. That's all changed and basically she's just an angry crazy lesbian. There's very little comedy anymore and she doesn't have the facts or knowledge to be relavent as a commentator.
If you like her that's fine. It takes all kinds. I cannot see her making it on primetime. It's a different audience than old ladies and stay at home moms. The audience expects a little more substance than angry rants and crazy conspiracy theories.

MSNBC has lost their minds. Who would watch Rosie, oh yeah, nobody watches MSNBC so who cares?

Don't by GE products if you don't agree with the direction NBC/MSNBC is headed.

Rosie ODonnell would win the ratings war completely, and I would watch as a big fan. I don't agree with all of her opinions, but I sure think she has the right to pose the questions. All too often it seems that questioning the status quo is scandalous or a sure sign of a traitor... It would be immensely refreshing to get a new point of view on American television, so we see not all US citizens agree completely with the current administration! From this vantage point, we don't see ANYONE saying ANYTHING different....

Jeez all you 9/11 conspiracy nuts, need serious psychological counseling. you RUIN things for the left and give all LIBERALS a bad name.... Do you know how many people it would take to run a conspiracy of that magnitude?... it is a pity your shell of ignorance is too thick to be broken through by a posting on a blog. But i pray you and Rosie O, who are the least enlightened bunch on the left get relegated to the fringes of the media and discourse which is where you belong.

MY GOD IS THIS STUPID!

ROSIE IS NOT IN THE LEAST QUALIFIED. SHE HAS NO INDEPTH GRASP OF AMERICAN HISTORY OR FOREIGN AFFAIRS. DO NOT CHEER HER JUST BECAUSE SHE IS A LIBERAL. SHE WOULD BE AN EMBARRASSMENT AND CANON FODDER FOR THE RIGHT WING BLOWHARDS...

MSNBC SHOULD CALL IN RACHEL MADDOW FROM AIR AMERICA. IF THEY WANT SOMEONE WHO WILL CALL IT LIKE IT IS AND TAKE ON THE RIGHT WING FAKESTERS

Having Rosie back on daily TV would be terrific! I think the year she spent on The View helped open the political (whether you believe she is right or wrong) debate for so many women; home with kids, whom might not have cared other wise.

Since the inception of TIVO, who cares when she's on and who she's opposite.

MSNBC has tons of conservatives.

They all show up on "To Catch a Predator."

WRONG WRONG SO WRONG ROSIE

Look I complained to MSNBC when IMUS was on and had his bigoted talk that this was a news channel now I have to use the same reasoning here.

She is an entertainer/commedian talk show host OK! But this is the wrong forumn and channel.
This is a step back.

While I applaud and (for the most part) support some of her views and her charity I do not want to see her on MSNBC.

Furthermore, if I were NBC, I would not put my money on this, she is just LAZY and really dosent want to work 4 - 5 days on an hour show.
She only agreed to do The View because it would not rest on her sole shoulders.
But then it could just as easily be like an Anna Nicole show where we all tune in to watch the melt down.

Rosie on TV fine but not the news there is problems enough at that level. Tucker needs to be put in a sound proof room without a mic. MSNBC also needs to get rid of all the weird crap and get back to a pure new format, something no other news channel is willing to do.
