I was a classmate of Linda Eastman's, at Scarsdale (N.Y.) High School, Class of 1959. This was long before either of us knew who Paul McCartney or the Beatles were, of course.

Linda and I never dated in those days, although we were friends. Years later I heard that a girl named Linda Eastman was marrying the famous Beatle, Paul McCartney. Was this the same Linda I had known? It was. Still later I learned she had been the model for the song that began "When I go to sleep, I never count sheep, I count all the charms about Linda..." It seems the composer of that song had been a client of Linda's father, Lee Eastman (a show-business agent), and that he had been charmed by this little blonde girl who had sat on his lap on weekend visits to the Eastman house...thus, the song.

My own wife died at age 56 of cancer, the same age at which Linda died of the same disease. Then Paul married a girl whose last name was the same as mine. I've wished tht Sir Paul and I could meet, because we have a lot to share. Alas, it won't happen. But I hope he and his ex-wife can settle things out of court, with a minimum of publicity. I'm positive Linda would have wanted it that way. She was a good gal.

Anytime you're feeling sorry for yourself... think about Christopher and what he had to deal with. And he never gave up.

Im glad C.R.'s kids are doing well. He was an important role model to me after I was shot in the back on the job and injured my spine.

There is so much that can be done to help spinal cord injuries but a severe lack of funding and leadership on the issue.

His death was a real loss to our community.

Would have preferred that you keep the old system.
