In light of Pat Robertson's endorsement today of former NYC Mayor and Churchillian 9/11 hero Rudy Giuliani, it seems worth recalling that even as the smoke was still rising from the site a few days later, Robertson had this to say about the disaster in a TV appearance with Jerry Falwell:

"God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve," said Falwell, appearing yesterday on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club," hosted by Robertson.

"Jerry, that's my feeling," Robertson responded. "I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population."

Falwell said the American Civil Liberties Union has "got to take a lot of blame for this," again winning Robertson's agreement: "Well, yes."

``They hate us for our freedom!``

Ah, no, they hate us because we are ignorant asses who love to meddle in the affairs of other soveriegn countries like it is our god given right! AND we did deserve 9/11 because of exactly that.

Robertson's endorsement of Rudy is about as craven a political move as I have ever seen.
If those who are true religious believers and want to see their values injected into government still believe that leaders such as Robertson are not in it to simply gather and wield political power, they are blind.

Why do American Evangelicals, like Robertson Hinn and Copeland etc continue to bring the Gospel Jesus and the Church into disrepute with these outlandish statements.

These guys have done more harm to the Gospel and the Church in the West, then any terrorist would have.

Tax Fraud Charges Against Bernard Kerik Could Hinder Giuliani Campaign
Nov. 7, 2007

(CBS) Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, once a close associate of Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, will face a federal indictment on tax fraud charges and other counts as early as Thursday, CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports.

A person familiar with the Kerik investigation says prosecutors expect to announce criminal charges in a news conference Friday at the U.S. Attorney's office in White Plains, N.Y. Kerik is expected to turn himself in and not face arrest.

Conservatives.

Give me liberty or give me my security blankie.
And, ye, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil... and openly endorse those that I have publicly judged harshly ALL MY LIFE... as long as it will protect me from the nasty "terrorists" and fill my pockets with cash. Greed is good God, baby... And hypocrisy may feel bad, it is payin' soooooooo good.

Oh yeah...
And those bleeding heart liberals with their "moral Relativism" could NEVER touch this. It is perfect.

Folks, this is just further proof that nothing gives the religious right an erection like 9/11 does. These people, with their more patriotic than thou attitude, generally hate everything about New York. But somehow when it comes to 9/11, they're the only ones who truly understand the nation's pain. Throw in a few inane references to the fight against Islamofascism, and they're hard as a rock. Rudy is the perfect candidate for them. He puts things in simple "us against them" terms. I mean, hey, what better way to fight the "War on Terra" than to treat "the terrorists" as a monolithic enemy? That way, we can go on creating power vacuums in countries like Iraq.

Let's hope this ridiculous backing will bring an end to Giuliani's candidacy. I can't think of a worse person to back a candidate.

For Robertson to say that we deserved 9/11, is to show that he knows nothing about God except to use Him as a weapon. In the hands of hypocrites such as Robertson, God is another name for greed.

Robertson is backing Giuliani in hopes of getting a firm grip in American politics. As far as backing a candidate, there's one way to show him that's wrong. That way is to pull the tax exempt status from his so-called ministry. Let's see how well he likes his pal Rudy then!

Drag Queen Giuliani, anti-guns, pro-abortionist, pro-gay marriage [notorious for his statement he would marry his two former gay roommates if he could], multipile divorce, multiple adulterer, joining forces with a man who is obvious televangelist crook, false prophet, bible tells one how too spot a false prophet by the words that come out of their mouths, Robertson advocates murder/assination of people, genocidal wars, gets giddy with glee when storms destroy and devastate cities he finds appropriate as his version of gods wrath...on the ungodly..., I venture to bet one thing both these men fit the bibles description of the blind biblical goats whom jesus will not know on judgment day. I have no respect for these televangelists, who suck the life blood via money donations from their congregations so they can live rich and elitist lives....they play a good game, but the parable of the rich man who came too Jesus and wanted too follow him is example of fate of the false prophets who preach this false prosperty religion.., the rich man could not do as jesus asked give up his wealth and follow him, he instead walked away sad, and jesus tells us it will be as hard for a rich man too enter heaven as it will be for a camel too go thru the eye of a needle..., today on CNN, Rev. Dollar being interviewed tried too wiggle out of that parable and even had the audacity too say Jesus would be riding in a Rolls Royce like he does in his church..., truly what have we become when we worship false prophets and pay lip service too Jesus..

Doesn't this endorsement just hold true to these hypocritical "so-called christians" - Follow the Bible only when it's convenient and don't follow the Bible when it's convenient as well!

Well of course Rudy would accept the endorsement. What did he have to give up to get it?

Did he have to change his views on abortion? No.

Did he have to get his two former marriages annulled as would normally be expected from a Roman Catholic before marrying again? No.

Did he have to match Robertson's strict views on limiting Gay Rights? No.

Robertson is jut trying to tie himself to the frontrunner to keep himself from looking like he is irrelevant.
