Security Contractors Blackwater Iraq

New York Times:

The Iraqi interior minister said Wednesday that he would authorize raids by his security forces on Western security firms to ensure that they were complying with tightened licensing requirements on guns and other weaponry, setting up the possibility of violent confrontations between the Iraqis and heavily armed Western guards.

The tightening of the requirements followed a shooting in September by one of those firms, Blackwater, that Iraqi authorities said left 17 Iraqis dead.

So what happens if the Great Decider and Darth Cheney decide that the country really needs four more years of their personal supervision? Where does Blackwater stand--behind those that pay them or behind the Constitution?

Blackwater is never unprovoked. They were abused at childhood.

Anybody got the authority to drug test all Blackwater gunmen on the ground in Iraq?

Can we get out of this mess? Is it too late, have these goons already taken over our country (and the world)?

This guy (Van Jones) is inspirational and I would like to think that it's not too late, but I don't see anybody talking about this stuff in face-to-face real life.

You couldn't INVENT this insane shit!

As we speak, a cadre of drooling neocons is in secret meetings with Darth Cheney, screaming at each other in a heated debate over which side we should support... our own puppet Iraqi government or our own killer mercenaries.

Maybe, when the end of this nightmare comes, it'll include a wave of uncontrolled laughter from the mob surrounding the gallows in Lincoln Park... just before the trap is sprung.

So let me get this straight -

We invade Iraq to free them from "Big Bad Saddam"

We then disband the army after which chaos and anarchy follow.

We hold a rigged election which allows us to set up a puppet government

The puppet government then stabs us in the back by authorizing security forces that were trained by us to attack war contractors that we hired.

Mere words cannot even begin to explain how fucked up that is.

Why are Americans so dumb? First they go head first into the Iraqi meat grinder....and then blame the people they sent there. Meanwhile they worry about American Idol and Paul McCartney's divorce. Keep buying those Escalades...

Blackwater and others are under contract by the State Department which is part of the Executive Branch. You know, the White House.

Another fine mess this completely insane administration has caused. Now, watch these assholes take NO responsibility!

Not to big a stretch to conclude that US troops might one day be shooting at Blackwater contractors...
