Video Of Britney Spears, With Her Kids, Running A Red Light Could Be Subpoenaed

There could be more trouble ahead for Britney Spears in her custody battle. Kevin Federline's lawyer says he may try to subpoena video footage that apparently shows the pop princess running a red light at a Hollywood Hills intersection while driving with their two young sons in the back seat.

Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan says he's weighing whether to seek a subpoena from the court Wednesday for the footage, which was posted on the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com. Separately, TMZ reported that it was contacted by Kaplan.

It's obvious Brittany thrives on the attention. When fighting for your children you:
1. Wear underwear
2. don't got get a mocha latte everyday
3. stay home and actually spend time with your children when you have custody.
4. Don't complain about the judge while getting a mocha latte
5. Don't go out drinking the same night the judge told you that you abuse alcohol and drugs.
6. oh yeah, wear underwear.

With all due respect to those of you who think the paparazzi are at least partially to blame for her bad driving, sorry, but that's just an excuse for bad behavor, and not a very good one at that. Everyone that drives has to deal with bad moments, from inclement weather to kids running out on the street to road-raged soccer moms or dads, whatever. The paparazzi is just another thing a good, defensive driver deals with.

I'm not a big fan of Danny Bonaduce, but I gained some respect for him once when he was asked if being a child star caused all his problems and he said words to the effect of "No way, I would've been like this even if I had never been on TV, it's me, it's my personality, and being a child star just made certain things accessible earlier and more often." Say what you will about the tranny beating steroid abuser is honest, you know? And he was kinda funny in H.O.T.S., but I digress.

Point is, the kind of mom Britney is, really, is the kind of mom I think she would've been had we never heard of Britney Spears. The fact that she's constantly surrounded by the press means we see it and hear about it more often, but driving with a baby on her lap, running red lights because she's distracted by other things and all the other lapses in judgment (not to mention hygeine) is how she is, how she likes to be. She's got that misguided "I'm a dumb ol' hillbilly...AND PROUD OF IT" mentality that sadly far too many people have (and it's not just hillbillies that are "dumb ol's" but she seems to best fit in that subgenre). Can't tell her what to do, how to raise her babies, who to hang out and do coke with, blahblahblah. Her issues with authority go beyond child star-itis or pop icon-itis. She'd be like this no matter what. We're just "lucky" enough to get a better view.

I can't believe this woman is allowed to have a driver's license - how does this makes sense? She was driving (badly) without one before - was able to get one after the fact in less then a week - and has broken virtually every rule in the book. Surely the state licensing agency can be taken to court for letting the lethal weapon on the road with kids.

she ran the light cuz a mob of rude papparazzi would have jabbed their cameras and mics right through her window the whole time the light stayed red. She was obviously just trying to escape a gang attack, call it what you will. I never stop for red lights on Florence Ave. at 4 a.m. either. I saw the video. It all happened at 10 miles an hour..
