Katie Couric Youtube Vid

A few months ago, a video was posted on YouTube that showed Dan Rather deliberating how to appropriate dress for a cold outdoor broadcast so he wouldn't become "the frozen anchorman." Katie Couric, Rather's successor at the helm of the CBS Evening News (Bob Schieffer who?), was recently caught on camera mocking this video as she prepared for an outdoor segment of her own.

Some highlights of the video include Katie joking about whether to keep her coat opened or closed, a declaration that one style "looks more anchorwoman-ish, don't you think?" and acknowledgment that, "I'm gonna get in trouble!" Still, KaCo declared, "Too bad...don't you think he deserves a little payback?" And then, in what is probably the actual highlight of the clip, Katie pronounces for the crew, "Alright, this tart is ready to go!"

This is much adieu about nothing. Seriously.

And for the record, I like Katie Couric and I couldn't stand Dan Rather (not that I ever watch the evening news anyway...).

What a bunch of judgemental jerks have posted about this video.

Couric is a total wastoid - how anyone that ignorant and clueless can become a network news anchor - I'll never know . . .

I think I just answered my own question!

It's staged, clearly.
This is a staged piece to make Couric look appealing and 'real'.

You can't believe that CBS would let this video out without meaning to.

What a manipulated populace we are!

I think it's funny.

Rather has no credibility at all, and even before his laughable "fake document-gate", in which he lied to all Americans, the country already knew he was always carrying the water for democrats (hint: his democrat fundraisers sort of gave it away- ha ha).

Any time someone can parody one of these liberal "news anchor suits" it makes me laugh.

Watch them squirm as they think to themselves, "how dare they make fun of an elitist, rich, powerful white guy like me".

Wow.
What an idiot.

Just like islamofacists, the day of the corporafascist
media whore shall too pass.

And take Russert with you Katie.

Couric is a dry, older Britney Spears. about as talented too."Dude"? "Bro?"

Dan Rather had a sad end to his career, but his older viewers will never forget his standing up to Richard Nixon at a press conference during the height of Watergate many years ago. When Nixon selected Rather to ask a question, he was greeted with applause from his fellow journalists.

Nixon laughed that nervous little laugh of his and tried to joke about it: "Mr. Rather are you running for something?"

Rather replied "No Mr. President. Are you?"
Bush, and the law suit - Rather appears doomed as well.

As for Couric - I'm reminded of The Library Detective (Philip Baker Hall) from Seinfeld. He might have said "Time was, an anch would have respect; dignity; intelligence, and insight. wouldn't worry about her hair. Get it kewpie doll?"

Couric is really a jerk. She's all about vanity, mocking Rather because she lacks even 10% of his professionalism.

Dan Rather was a top-notch news anchorman, Couric is a pretty girl personality, and a bit spoiled, apparently.

Not even McDonald's will ridicule Burger King on television. This "performance" is unseemly and unprofessional.

I'm not sure how Katie can reconcile her disparaging reference to Dan Rather's uncharacteristic narcissistic YouTube video with this over-long "look-at-me" video and, more damning, her 16 years of entrenched non-stop narcissism. This video is appalling in its deafening narcissism and unintended irony.

Katie Couric hasn't the credentials to make fun of even the busty, content-free Robin Meade as an anchor! Katie's in the peewee leagues of journalism as compared to Rather. Funny I didn't really like Rather at the end either. He became lazy, and it coincided with his over-the-top vanity. I suspect that that's why he got snagged in the Rathergate episode.

But Katie is nothing but a journalistic joke. It pains me that I've had to see untalented women rise in the journalism because they weren't "sexy" for the "middle-aged male" demographic or "popular" with the "soccer mom" demographic. The men in the news media establishment were and are never held up to the standard of "gender popularity" that the talented likes of Cokie Roberts/Linda Ellerbee were and are.

Vain, controlling, sarcastic and cruel.

She makes fun of Rather for his vanity and than displays her own. Actions speak louder than words. She is incredibly insecure.

Someone should have reminded Katie that Pride comes before a fall - other CBS newscasters have all ended up in a "journalist's graveyard" despite their previuos prestige as the network's gem.

Rather was decent man and professional broadcaster, I wish people would stop dancing on his grave.

Dan Rather is a first-rate newsman with a stiff personality that didn't serve him well with the "Buy is he nice?" crowd.

Katie Couric is a "personality" -- a self-centered professionally "cute" airhead that appeals to those who don't like watching someone who makes them feel dumb by comparison.

Couric has NO right to compare herself to Rather in any way that has her coming out on top. She acts like what she is -- a pampered princess of the entertainment media that CBS News has become.
