Then Oprah has the nerve to act disappointed as she makes the statement that all today's youth wants are ipods, cell phones etc. Which leads up to the lame excuse on why she does things for children in South Africa rather than children in our inner cities.

After a few minutes of watching the folks screaming I had to change the channel. It was so have the top. I agree, the fridge for 3000 dollars???? Now really I have to laugh on that one!!!

Sorry, but a refrigerator with a built-in DVD player is about the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Is that what this country has come to?

Something about the materialism she spawns at this most 'giving' time of year. It made me actually ill to see the jingle-jangle of 'gotta have it' rearing it's ugly head.

She's putting these people in debt to the govt. Does the IRS take credit card payments? I didn't see the whole show so maybe she included funds to cover the taxes on the (donated by corporations) goods (as well as the cash) as a final gift? That wouldn't leave these people in debt. And they just couldn't get enough--new age slaves that they are--O's running a new Roman Circus.

I suppose we can blame Monty Hall and Bob Barker for it, eh? When is free (stuff) really free?

Like Rosie O. and Ellen D. her empire will eventually crumble under its own hype, if there is any common sense in th world. The queens of self promotion like Madonna have outlived their welcome.

Wow! Some of that stuff isn't sold at Wal Mart! How are REAL people supposed to even know what it is? Must be nice to have a favorite things list like that, when the rest of the country has a favorite things list with stuff like "Paying the electric bill in FULL this month" or "Finding a good sale at Penney's" or "Had enough left over from filling the car up to go to dinner at Olive Garden" Of course, if some company would pay me, or any real people, enough money, we'd put it on our favorite things list, too.
